SHIFT UP is expanding the world of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE with a new animated short series called Outpost: Off-Duty Tales. The first episode, “The Counters – First Time at the Outpost!”, will be released on May 22, 2026.

These shorts offer a break from the usual action, giving you a glimpse into the more relaxed, everyday lives of the NIKKEs. Instead of battles and missions, they’ll show the Nikkes interacting casually, sharing funny moments, and enjoying life inside the Outpost.

NIKKE is expanding beyond the game through multimedia and entertainment projects

NIKKE already excels at compelling characters, heartfelt stories, and a beautiful anime aesthetic, making it a perfect fit for animated shorts. It’s a natural and exciting next step for the game.

To be honest, this isn’t a totally new idea for games like these. Many popular franchises have tried using animated shorts, short series, or even full anime shows to promote their games in the past.

Get ready for a new series of animated shorts featuring the Nikkes! For now, the Commander can relax – there are no urgent missions or battles. These shorts will offer a glimpse into the Nikkes’ daily lives, filled with fun, laughter, and charming surprises. — The GODDESS OF…

Many popular games, including Honkai Impact 3rd, Blue Archive, Arknights, Azur Lane, Fate/Grand Order, Princess Connect, and the Girls’ Frontline series, have been expanding their content in comparable ways. We’ve even seen some, like Devil May Cry last year and the continuing development of Genshin Impact, venture into full-fledged anime adaptations.

NIKKE isn’t just intended to be a game; SHIFT UP aims to build it into a full-fledged franchise. The company stated during its Q1 2026 earnings call that they are actively working on expanding the NIKKE universe beyond the game itself.

These animated shorts are a key part of our plan to grow the franchise, covering everything from products and events to creating a richer world and exploring new entertainment options. Because of this, it wouldn’t be unexpected if we eventually create a full-length anime series.

The animated shorts will launch on NIKKE’s official social media pages, and more episodes are planned for the future. We don’t have a release schedule for upcoming episodes yet, so please follow our channels for the latest updates.
