Bob Voysey, who appeared on Married At First Sight UK, is getting married! He recently proposed to his girlfriend, Stephanie Boyce, and she said yes.
The reality star’s wife-to-be posted a sweet video on Instagram of their engagement on a pier, excitedly announcing she’s changing her name from ‘Miss’ to ‘Mrs.’
Bob shared a funny video of Stephanie excitedly showing off her engagement ring. He had proposed to her while they were on vacation.
Bob and Megan Wolfe were a couple on the 2021 season of the show, but their relationship was severely damaged when Megan secretly kissed another contestant, Jordan Mundell, while still with Bob.
After a major argument at a dinner, Megan and Bob chose to quit the experiment during the third commitment ceremony.
The announcement of his engagement follows recent controversy surrounding the E4 series, where three contestants reported being sexually assaulted by fellow participants on the show.
Two contestants on the British reality show reported being sexually assaulted by their co-stars, who were portrayed as their husbands on the program. A third contestant stated she experienced unwanted sexual contact.
The claims came to light during a BBC investigation by the Panorama program. According to the broadcaster, those making the claims haven’t reported the matter to the police, and the individuals accused deny any wrongdoing.
Following claims made by three past participants, Channel 4 has removed all episodes of Married at First Sight UK from its streaming services and on-demand platforms.
The broadcaster described the accusations as ‘very serious,’ and the British government stated on Tuesday that anyone committing crimes or acting improperly must face repercussions.
Channel 4 executives held urgent meetings last night after discovering that episodes of a popular show featuring a specific couple had been broadcast even though producers knew about accusations against them.
The Daily Mail announced that its new show, Second Marriage at First Sight, will keep moving forward with early planning even while an independent review takes place.
The show, revealed in February by outgoing Chief Content Officer Ian Katz, brings back beloved contestants from the popular series to try and find love again.
Oh my gosh, you guys, they’ve ordered a FULL 24 episodes! I cannot even breathe! It’s going to start filming here in the UK, and I’m already obsessed with seeing how these couples deal with all the culture shock – it’s going to be AMAZING! Then, get this, they’re heading to Australia to meet each other’s families and friends! Can you imagine the DRAMA?! The big question is, after everything, will they actually move their whole lives to be with someone they met on the show? I’m already counting down the days!
Negotiations are happening with several former stars, and some have already agreed to participate.
As a huge fan of Married At First Sight, I’ve heard that even though they’re looking into how things are run behind the scenes, work on the next season is already starting up. They’re still prepping everything, which is great news for us – it means we won’t have to wait too long for more drama!
This involves completing the cast list – which is nearly done – and securing places to film, as well as hiring the necessary crew for the show.
Filming won’t begin until the review is finished and any suggested changes have been made.
Married at First Sight is a reality TV show that started in Denmark and has become popular around the world. Versions of the show now air in countries like the United States, Australia, and South Africa.
Relationship experts pair up strangers who then simulate a wedding and immediately move in together. Cameras follow them, documenting the challenges and successes of their fast-paced relationships.
Caroline Dinenage, a Conservative MP and chair of the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee, stated in an interview with the BBC that the show undeniably carries some risk.
The show seems to set people up for very quick, intense connections,” she explained to the BBC. “Almost immediately after meeting, contestants are expected to share a bed and build a life together, which feels like a recipe for drama.
The British version of the show is produced by CPL, an independent production company. It’s been on the air for 10 seasons on E4, and an 11th season is coming out this year. CPL hasn’t yet responded to a request for comment.
The show prioritizes the well-being of its participants with thorough welfare procedures. These include comprehensive background checks, a clear code of conduct outlining expected behavior, and daily check-ins with a dedicated welfare team.
It has ordered a review of its welfare standards and procedures.
A contestant on the show, choosing to remain anonymous, has alleged that her husband sexually assaulted her and threatened to harm her with acid. She is now considering legal action against the show’s production company, CPL.
Lizzie, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed that her partner frequently became angry when they weren’t being filmed.
She told the BBC’s Panorama that sex quickly turned abusive, leaving her with bruises even when she repeatedly told him to stop.
Lizzie reported that he threatened to have someone attack her with acid if she told anyone about what occurred.
She described an alleged assault, saying that while she and her partner were relaxing on the sofa, the man attempted to sexually assault her. She repeatedly told him she did not consent and did not want to engage in any sexual activity.
‘But he kept saying, ‘You can’t say no, you’re my wife’. And he just did it anyway.’
CPL’s lawyers stated that Lizzie didn’t share the ‘can’t say no’ comment with their team, and they understood the ‘acid’ remark to be a casual statement, not a serious threat.
CPL took action as soon as Lizzie said she felt unsafe, the lawyers added.
Another woman, identified as Chloe, claims her husband sexually assaulted her before her appearances on the show. Despite her reporting this to the channel and production team, E4 still broadcast her episodes.
Oh my god, the way he looked at me… that little smirk before he just… climbed on top of me. He even moved my leg! Honestly, at that point, I was just… defeated. I just wanted to make him happy, to avoid any trouble when the cameras started rolling. I couldn’t bear the thought of him being angry with me.
‘I just lay there, and I stared out the window.’
Once filming wrapped up, she shared her concerns with the show’s mental health professional, who then contacted the production company, CPL. CPL then informed Channel 4. Chloe didn’t receive a response from the broadcaster until the show actually aired. CPL’s legal team stated they had followed all the necessary well-being procedures.
Both men involved deny the allegations, Panorama added.
Shona Manderson, a participant on a show in 2023, has come forward publicly to accuse her partner, Bradley Skelly, of sexual assault.
Skelly responded to the BBC by stating he believed Manderson willingly participated and strongly denied any claims of sexual misconduct or controlling behavior. He described their relationship as founded on mutual consent, care, and affection.
The production company behind the show, CPL, informed its staff about the allegations and asked them not to talk to the press if contacted.
They also warned against them posting on social media or identifying any of the accused males.
Please be careful about what you say online or in private conversations.
