The Strokes announced that guitarist Nick Valensi won’t be joining them on tour this June. The band, based in New York City, shared on Instagram that Valensi is taking a break, but didn’t specify why.
He also wasn’t able to join The Strokes when they played on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Fortunately, the band anticipates his return soon, though they haven’t announced a specific date.
According to a recent Instagram post, Nick is taking a short break from the tour, and everyone is excited for him to rejoin when he’s ready.
The Strokes will be missing guitarist Nick Valensi to open new tour
I’m so excited! My favorite band is releasing their seventh album, Reality Awaits, on June 26th! They’ve already put out a couple of songs from it, and while opinions seem a little divided, I’m still really looking forward to hearing the whole thing. It’s been a while since their last album, The New Abnormal – I loved that one, it actually hit number 8 on the Billboard charts, which was awesome!
Tickets for the band’s tour are now on sale! You can find them on the band’s official website – you won’t want to miss this!
