Calling fans of One Day! Prime Video’s ‘love story of the summer’ nostalgic romance shares trailer

If you loved the show One Day and are looking for something similar with lots of heartfelt romance, you’ll be happy to hear about Prime Video’s new series, Every Year After, which premieres this June.

Inspired by Carley Fortune’s popular novel, Every Summer After, the story centers on Persephone Fraser, who returns to her hometown after ten years living in the city. There, she reconnects with Sam Florek, a past love, and rediscovers their powerful connection.

Percy is still struggling with regrets and a past she hoped to escape. Can she and Sam rebuild their relationship, or have too many problems come between them?

Spanning six years and a week in the charming lakeside town of Barry’s Bay, Every Year After is a sweet and sentimental story about first love and the lasting impact of people and decisions on our lives.

Prime Video will release all eight episodes of the new series – billed as a summer romance – on June 10th.

What to Read Next

Sadie Soverall, known for her role in Saltburn, and Matt Cornett, from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, play the main characters. Aurora Perrineau, Abigail Cowen, Michael Bradway, Joseph Chiu, and Elisha Cuthbert also star in the film.

The new trailer shows Percy returning to Barry’s Bay, grappling with her past. She’s there for the funeral of Sam’s mother, whom Percy describes as being like a second mom to her.

Sam and Percy quickly run into each other in town, and it’s obvious their old feelings are still there. But their happy reunion is cut short when Sam introduces a woman named Taylor as his girlfriend.

The next scenes are a collection of happy summer moments, secret looks, and hints of a big error that made Percy leave years ago. Is this an opportunity for them to reconnect?

Every Year After will be released on Prime Video on 10 June.
