Death Valley, season 2

With the popular shows Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise now finished, the new detective series Death Valley arrives to offer the same charming and quirky appeal.

What to Read Next

I’m so excited for the new season! It’s set in Wales and brings back DI Janie Mallowan, played by Gwyneth Keyworth, and the brilliant Timothy Spall as John Chapel, who’s a retired actor helping out as a police consultant. They’re teaming up again, and I can’t wait to see what happens!

This season, viewers can expect a mismatched and often argumentative pair to team up and solve murders while also navigating personal challenges. Janie will have to confront complicated emotions as her long-lost father reappears, and John might just rediscover his passion for acting.

Death Valley is available to watch from Sunday, 17 May at 8:15pm on BBC One.

Two Weeks in August

In Two Weeks in August, Zoe (Jessica Raine) experiences a nightmare vacation when a family trip to Greece takes a disturbing turn.

Things get much worse for the vacationers when they realize they can’t leave the island. As dangerous situations arise, the group starts to blame each other. Is Zoe causing all the trouble, or is something more powerful and ancient at work? After all, they’re in Greece, a land steeped in mythology…

Falling

This moving drama tells the story of Anna, a dedicated nun, and David, a Catholic priest, and their deeply emotional love for each other, brought to life by Paapa Essiedu and Keeley Hawes.

Written by Jack Thorne, the creator of the BAFTA-winning series Adolescence, Falling tells the story of Anna (Hawes) and David (Essiedu) who find themselves powerfully drawn to each other despite the difficult circumstances.

They struggle with the implications of their feelings, wondering how their secret love aligns with their religious beliefs and the promises they’ve made to each other and to God.

Falling is available to watch from Tuesday, 19 May at 9pm on Channel 4.

The Family Next Door

After a long wait, the Australian drama series is now available to watch in the UK and is expected to be captivating.

So, I just started watching this new show based on a really popular book, and it’s seriously gripping. It’s all about the messy stuff in life – friendships, being a mom, marriage, and those complicated family relationships. You follow this woman, Isabelle, played by Teresa Palmer, and she basically sets off a chain reaction of drama. It’s a six-part series and I’m already hooked!

Isabelle arrives in a quiet seaside neighborhood hoping to unravel a mystery, but she quickly begins to distrust her neighbors. As she gets more involved in their lives, things take a dark turn, and her attempt to bring one family back together has unexpected and damaging consequences for everyone involved.

The Family Next Door is available to watch from Sunday, 17 May at 10:20pm on ITV.

The Boroughs

In 1980, a strange and unsettling mystery unfolds in the New Mexico desert. A man named Sam (Alfred Molina), who is dealing with a loss, arrives at what appears to be an ideal retirement community, but something feels very wrong.

But when he unexpectedly confronts bizarre and frightening creatures, he feels driven to team up with a group of unusual heroes. Together, they’re determined to uncover the hidden and unsettling truths surrounding them.

I’m so excited about this show! Besides Ricardo Molina, it’s got an amazing cast – Geena Davis is playing Renee, Alfre Woodard is Judy, and Denis O’Hare is Wally. I can’t wait to see them all in action!

In an interview with Tudum, the creators of the show, the Duffers, described the new characters as a charming group of underdogs, much like the kids from Stranger Things, but older.

The Boroughs is available to watch on Thursday, 21 May, on Netflix.

Maximum pleasure is surely guaranteed with this watch. After all, it’s in the name.

I’m totally hooked on this new thriller! It’s about Paula, played by Tatiana Maslany, who’s going through a divorce and suddenly thinks she’s seen something really bad happen. It quickly spirals into a crazy situation with blackmail and even murder, and she gets pulled right into the middle of it all.

As Paula digs deeper into the case, she uncovers a much larger conspiracy. Juggling a tough custody battle and trying to rebuild her life, she now faces serious danger. Can she handle everything and still protect herself and her family?
