The new Thai action drama, My Dearest Assassin, premiered this month and has quickly become a streaming hit. Despite a quiet launch, it’s climbed the charts and become a major success.

The movie My Dearest Assassin is quickly becoming popular on Netflix! It’s currently ranked at number 4 on the overall Top 10 Movies list, according to FlixPatrol. Even more impressively, it’s the most-watched non-English movie on Netflix worldwide this week. In its first week, the two-hour-and-nine-minute film was viewed 8.5 million times, totaling 18.3 million hours of watch time.

My Dearest Action Blends Themes of Action and Revenge

In the thrilling series My Dearest Assassin, Baifern-Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul plays Lhan, a woman with a unique and valuable blood type that has made her a target since childhood. After her parents are killed for it, she’s taken in and raised by a secret organization called House 89, who become her new family. Years later, the person responsible for her parents’ death resurfaces, still determined to get Lhan’s blood. But this time, Lhan isn’t running. She’s decided to fight back, standing alongside her skilled and protective family at House 89.

The movie stars Tor-Thanapob Leeratanakachorn as Pran, the nimble and athletic prince of House 89, and Porsche-Sivakorn Adulsuttikul as M, a strong and powerful orphan adopted by the same house. Together, they balance out Lhan’s abilities – she’s fast, accurate, and skilled with her favorite weapon, a small knife.

Filming the Movie Was Very Intense

Thanabob described the film as an incredibly challenging project that required a lot of stamina. He told Netflix that they prioritized pushing their boundaries while ensuring everyone’s safety – both the actors and the crew. He felt that after so much preparation, he had to give it his all.

Sivakorn explained that the movie’s action sequences are incredibly dynamic. The main character’s lifelong training means each fight is unique and adapts to the circumstances. Sivakorn himself gained valuable insight into stunt work, precise timing, and how to film fight scenes effectively. He said the director and stunt team worked hard to ensure every movement felt authentic, impactful, and enjoyable for the audience.

Director Taweewat Wantha explained that the movie explores different kinds of love, including youthful romance and, crucially, bonds that aren’t based on family. He highlighted that the assassins from House 89 function as a family, sharing a deep connection and unwavering loyalty. They love each other so strongly that they’d give up their lives for one another.

The new series, My Dearest Assassin, is now available to watch on Netflix, having premiered on May 7, 2026.
