Everyone was shocked when Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) survived that head injury at the end of season one of Rival, but he’s back—and more dangerous than ever. If you thought you understood how far he’d go to control the media, season two will show you just how wrong you were.
Get ready for a wild and violent sequel! The highly anticipated follow-up, full of scandalous fun, is available to watch today.
Disney+ released the first three episodes, and they immediately grab your attention with a lot of explicit sexual content. Expect frequent and lengthy scenes of a sexual nature – it’s definitely not for everyone.

If the show was just about sex, people wouldn’t still be so excited about this thrilling ’80s revenge story. The initial hype would have died down by now.
The intense rivalry between Tony and the unfaithful MP, Rupert Campbell-Black (played by Alex Hassell), is even more dramatic than the season’s many passionate love affairs.
Declan O’Hara (Aidan Turner), who runs a competing TV channel called Venturer, has become a key player in the escalating conflict. He’s determined to succeed and is actively trying to put Tony’s Corinium Television out of business.
What to Read Next
Cameron Cook (Nafessa Williams) finds herself in a complicated position after the events surrounding Tony’s death. We won’t reveal exactly what happens, but she’s become an even more fascinating character this season. Showing more vulnerability adds a new layer of depth to her story.
The men often grab attention with their displays of confidence and competitive spirit, fueling the drama of the season. However, the women’s quiet determination and strong desire to succeed are equally powerful.
Driven by ambition, love, or simply the need to navigate a world built for men, these women feel a powerful pull towards their goals. But how much are they willing to give up to achieve them?
The TV series Rivals, based on Jilly Cooper’s popular books, powerfully explores the different ways men and women pursue their ambitions. Men are allowed to be openly mischievous, while women, who are just as driven and can be equally calculating, have to be more careful about how they act – though that doesn’t mean they’re shy about getting what they want.

Despite the dramatic and exciting events unfolding, the developing and secret relationship between Lizzie Vereker, played by Katherine Parkinson, and Danny Dyer’s character, Freddie Jones, is surprisingly sweet and heartwarming.
Viewers who’ve been following this season’s developing romance will see the connection between these characters grow even stronger in the upcoming episodes. The writers are carefully building the tension, and that slow burn is really what makes this relationship so central to the show’s appeal.
Everything seems to be falling apart around them, but they still share a tender and loving connection.

Based on the early episodes, it looks like the show Rivals is shaping up to be a beautiful and fitting tribute to Cooper, who sadly died while the show was being made.
At the premiere for the new season, actress Emily Atack described the season as a “love letter” to Cooper. She explained that losing Cooper mid-filming was strange, but it ultimately added a deeper sense of emotion and affection to the show.
She also shared: “All we want to do is make her and her family proud.”
Okay, so the first part of this season was amazing, and if the rest of it keeps up that energy, it’s going to be a seriously awesome follow-up. I’m really hoping it delivers!
