Netflix’s gritty new crime drama with a “maverick cop” branded “tantalising TV” is streaming now

Netflix is now streaming a new crime drama called Nemesis. Critics are calling it a wildly fun and fast-paced show. The series stars Matthew Law and Y’lan Noel and centers on a robbery, following two men who find themselves on opposing sides of the law.

The upcoming series, Nemesis, follows two men—a highly skilled criminal and a brilliant detective—whose paths collide. It explores what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, pitting them against each other in a battle of wits and wills.

Beginning as a fresh take on the classic heist movie, filled with intense danger, complex family relationships, and exciting action, the story ultimately delves into the motivations behind our actions, what keeps us going, and what leads to our downfall.

Jermaine Law plays the role of Detective Isaiah Stiles, and Noel appears as Coltrane Wilder, a brilliant criminal planner. The film also features Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Ariana Guerra in supporting roles.

The new eight-episode series, created by Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Morale, is already getting great reviews. Variety called the crime drama “tantalizing TV.”

The review goes on to say that Nemesis poses a compelling question: ‘What would you sacrifice to completely destroy another?’ Despite being full of suspense and steamy scenes, it’s still a very enjoyable experience watching Isiah and Coltrane discover the answer.

In a review, The Guardian described Nemesis as “ridiculously entertaining.” While the Netflix drama—which centers on a rebellious police officer and daring robberies—may initially appear predictable, the reviewer found it surprisingly improved with each scene.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nemesis is a dramatic, ongoing thriller that doesn’t shy away from strong emotions and even some over-the-top plot twists.

I always enjoyed Nemesis as a fun, fast-paced, and slightly cheesy series—like a long, eight-part B-movie. The ending left me eager to see what happened next with a major cliffhanger.

Collider had a more varied opinion, noting that while Nemesis is still fun and features memorable, exciting action scenes and strong performances, it could use some polish to truly deliver a flawless heist experience.
