Hannah Waddingham reveals “fairly gnarly” injury while filming stunts for action-comedy Ride Or Die

Hannah Waddingham, known for her role in Ted Lasso, injured herself while filming her new show, Ride or Die, with Octavia Spencer and Billy Nighy. Waddingham, who recently appeared in The Fall Guy, has shared that she does her own stunts for the Prime Video series, which is scheduled to release this summer.

For the June issue of Women’s Health UK, cover star Waddingham shared that she completely committed herself to performing the stunts.

I’d spend a week practicing a stunt, then film it, and the very next day I’d have to start learning a new one. I told them, ‘Look, I’m really beat up – can we please slow down for a bit?’

“At one point, I had a fairly gnarly calf injury in my gastrocnemius muscle, which was horrific.”

In the new show, premiering on July 15th, Hannah Waddingham plays Judith Burton, alongside Spencer as Debbie Claybourne.

When Judith and Debbie are unexpectedly forced to flee from an unknown pursuer, a surprising secret about Judith is revealed. Debbie is stunned to discover her best friend is actually a highly skilled, internationally trained assassin – a revelation that suddenly makes sense of all the elaborate action sequences for Waddingham’s character.
