First look at Jack O’Connell in A Quiet Place 3 reveals surprise return

Good news for fans of A Quiet Place – the third movie in the main series is now in production! We’re getting our first glimpse of Jack O’Connell in A Quiet Place 3 as filming begins.

John Krasinski is back to write and direct the third installment in the A Quiet Place series, likely titled A Quiet Place: Part III. The film will star Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, reprising their roles as the Abbott family, and will also feature Cillian Murphy.

The newly released set photos are exciting for two reasons: they give us our first glimpse of O’Connell’s character in the next film, and they confirm that Alex Wolff will be returning as Reuben, reprising his role from A Quiet Place: Day One.

Just a warning – Reuben dies in A Quiet Place: Day One soon after the aliens first attack New York City. He was a nurse caring for Sam (played by Lupita Nyong’o), and he bravely gave his life to protect her and others when the attack began.

The new photo hints that A Quiet Place 3 will show a flashback to the attack on Manhattan. In this scene, Reuben meets a National Guard soldier – a character played by O’Connell – whose name hasn’t been revealed yet.

It’s unclear what will happen to O’Connell’s character after being attacked, but it would be surprising if he died. One possibility is that he ended up on the island shown in A Quiet Place: Part II.

Fans won’t have to wait too long to see what happens next – A Quiet Place 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 30, 2027.

Joining Jack O’Connell in A Quiet Place 3 are Katy O’Brian and Jason Clarke. While their roles and the plot are still under wraps, John Krasinski recently revealed to Collider that this film will conclude the story of the Abbott family.

I’m thrilled to be finishing this story arc. I always envisioned it as a three-part series, and I’m glad we’ve reached a natural conclusion, as we planned,” he hinted.

A Quiet Place: Part III is released in cinemas on 30 July 2027.
