10 Multiplayer Games To Play With Friends

As a gamer, I’ve noticed multiplayer games come in all shapes and sizes. Seriously, there’s something for everyone! You’ve got games where you’re trying to survive and build stuff with your friends, and then others where you can just roam around huge worlds together – it’s awesome!

It can be hard to discover good multiplayer games because so many follow current trends. However, there are still plenty of fun options to play with friends.

It’s Fun To Fight Sea Battles With Friends in Windrose

Windrose is a highly anticipated indie survival game coming in 2026. It combines the exploration and crafting of Valheim with the ship combat seen in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, and adds challenging combat inspired by Souls-like games. It’s a great game to play with friends, focusing on building and sailing, where you can team up to explore the world and fight off pirate ships controlled by the game.

Windrose offers all the classic survival crafting gameplay you’d expect – gathering resources, building a base, and creating items. Fighting bosses is particularly exciting, and these battles are some of the most difficult challenges the game has to offer. Teamwork makes these fights much more manageable, and each player gets unique loot, opening up opportunities for trading to help everyone get the gear they need.

Hide and Research Humans as Aliens in Roadside Research

Roadside Research is a lighthearted and humorous game where you play as aliens operating a gas station. Players collect data from human customers – dropped items, specifically – to improve both their alien characters and the gas station itself. It’s a fun and engaging management simulation, especially when played with friends.

Players can take on various jobs, such as working the cash register, cleaning the gas station, or pumping gas. The game also includes a stealth element, requiring players to avoid being spotted by alien hunters, which creates some exciting and unique situations.

Lethal Company Is Fun To Survive Cosmic Horrors With Friends

Lethal Company is a co-op horror game where up to four players team up to explore scary, alien worlds. It’s one of the first games to combine the horror genre with the ‘extraction’ style of gameplay – meaning you venture into dangerous places to collect items and then try to escape. Players collect scrap metal while avoiding terrifying creatures, but surviving in Lethal Company is a real challenge!

I’ve been having so much fun playing this game with my friends! Seriously, the number of ridiculous ways you can die is hilarious. What’s even better is that your friends can watch all the chaos unfold on the ship’s cameras, or even try to help (or fail to help!) you out of tricky spots. It really makes Lethal Company one of the best co-op games out there.

Repair a Broken Down RV in RV There Yet?

RV There Yet? is a game about driving a beat-up RV across rough, rocky landscapes. Players need to collect supplies – like gas – and fix their vehicle while dodging hazards such as snakes and bears to keep it from falling apart.

Let me tell you, trying to drive and fix up this RV with my friends is hilarious chaos! We’re constantly falling off the thing, and once we even ran into a bear – seriously! It’s a super simple game idea, but it’s one of the best multiplayer experiences out there. It’s easy to pick up, but there’s always something happening to keep us all entertained.

R.E.P.O. Is a Horrific Fun Experience

R.E.P.O. is a recently released horror game similar to Lethal Company, building upon its style of scavenging and exploration. It enhances the experience with a more engaging atmosphere and introduces some truly creepy and memorable monsters.

The core idea of the game is for up to six players to collect items of certain values and then bring them back to earn money. This money unlocks new items and upgrades. However, a diverse range of dangerous monsters makes completing this task difficult, creating a mix of funny and scary situations for players and their friends. Similar to the game ‘Repo Man,’ this title has a large and active modding community, with mods available to change the number of players, add new monsters, or introduce different items to find.

Break The Law In Schedule I

Schedule I is a cooperative online game where players build and manage a drug business. With a cartoon style, the game focuses on avoiding the police and rival gangs. Players work together, each taking on a specific role – like growing marijuana, cooking drugs, or selling to customers – to run the entire operation.

Things can quickly escalate here. Customers might experience dangerous side effects from drugs, players could find themselves pursued by law enforcement, and unexpected conflicts – even with someone wielding a crown in the sewers – are possible.

Battle Friends In Party Animals

Party Animals is a fun, chaotic game where up to eight players battle it out on various levels. You play as an animal and use physics-based moves to fight – which means things can get pretty unpredictable! It’s tricky because you have to control your movement and your arms to climb, grab weapons, and fight opponents at the same time.

Playing Party Animals is a blast, especially because everyone faces the same wacky challenges, making it great for playing with friends. While the main game is for more players, there are a few smaller side modes that support up to four. To keep things interesting, some maps have power-ups and changing weather, adding extra chaos and fun when you’re playing with others. It’s a game best enjoyed with a controller, much like other popular titles.

Survive Lovecraftian Horrors In Barotrauma

I love exploring underwater, and it’s way more fun with friends. That’s why I’m really into Barotrauma. It’s a game where up to 16 of us can crew a submarine together. We’re basically trying to keep the sub running and survive in the oceans under the moon, which is full of crazy monsters and dangerous stuff. It’s all about teamwork to avoid getting crushed or eaten!

In Barotrauma, you’ll complete missions, create items, and collect resources, which you can either sell or use for crafting. Players can team up, pool resources and funds, and upgrade their submarines to explore the deepest, most challenging areas of the game. It’s a great multiplayer experience where friends can work together to achieve various goals.

1v1 Friends In Wanba Warriors

Wanba Warriors is an easy-to-pick-up fighting game where you battle friends one-on-one. It has a lot of different characters to choose from, each with their own special moves and fighting styles, making every match exciting. You might even recognize some characters inspired by popular games like The Witcher and God of War.

Okay, so this game is really easy to pick up, but surprisingly tricky to really get good at. The coolest part is how you use your character’s weapons to move – it leads to some hilarious moments when you’re battling friends! I mean, I’ve totally gotten stuck trying to block an attack just as my opponent unleashed a powerful move. It’s definitely one of the most fun experiences I’ve had on Steam!

Deep Rock Galactic Is the Best Co-op Game in Space

Deep Rock Galactic is a fantastic multiplayer game available on Steam, especially enjoyable when played with friends. It’s a cooperative experience for up to four players, similar to the popular Left 4 Dead series. The game offers a ton of content, including challenging endgame activities, weapon upgrades, and a unique setting where you play as space dwarves. Players choose from four different dwarf classes, each with their own distinct style and set of weapons, and work together to complete missions for a corporate employer.

Okay, so when you’re out on missions, you’re basically fighting waves and waves of alien bugs. Every now and then you’ll run into these huge robot bosses too. The combat is seriously a blast, and it gets crazy fast! What’s really cool is you can mess with your friends – one of the classes can chuck explosives that’ll damage other players, which is hilarious. Plus, the game gets updated with tons of seasonal stuff, letting you unlock new items and resources just by playing. You can use those resources to get cool cosmetic upgrades or beef up your weapons, so you can tackle even tougher missions.
