Jonathan Bailey lands next lead movie role in “completely original” thriller

After a fantastic 2025 starring in both Jurassic World: Rebirth and Wicked: For Good, Jonathan Bailey is set to take the lead in a brand new psychological thriller.

According to Variety, Julianne Moore will star alongside Natalie Portman in a new movie called Pumping Black. The film will be directed by Mimi Cave, who previously worked on Fresh and Holland.

This project is a fast-paced, intense thriller set in the highly competitive world of professional cycling. It’s been compared to Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning film, Black Swan, suggesting a similarly thrilling and potentially dark story.

Bailey stars as Taylor Mace, a 35-year-old cyclist struggling with the end of his racing career, but determined to keep competing.

With the Tour de France getting closer, he joins forces with Andrea Lathe, a doctor from Portman who is just as determined to win and gain influence.

I’m thrilled to be working with Natalie and her company, MountainA, on this ambitious project. Jonathan’s skills are exactly what we need, and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with Anton to make Mimi Cave’s amazing idea a reality.
