Ranvir Singh, 48, says she ‘isn’t ruling out marriage’ with toyboy boyfriend Louis Church, 29, as she makes rare admission about their relationship

She separated from her husband while seven months pregnant and went on to raise their son on her own.

After thirteen years, Ranvir Singh says she’s open to getting married again. She and her younger boyfriend, Louis Church, have built a close, family-like relationship, blending traditional values with a modern lifestyle.

Gemma Atkinson, 48, a television presenter who grew up in a Sikh family in Lancashire, began living with her partner, a 29-year-old producer, earlier in 2024. She says they’ve become much closer and understand each other better.

Ranvir and BBC producer Louis met while she was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, and they’ve been developing a relationship since then. However, Ranvir isn’t convinced that marriage would improve things for them.

She said she doesn’t spend much time thinking about getting married, though she’s not opposed to it. It’s just not something she’s actively focused on right now, she told Woman and Home magazine.

Honestly, I’m not sure what getting married would even do for me right now. I’ve already built a life I love – I have a home, a wonderful child, and I’m content with our little family as it is. I just don’t see a need to change things with marriage.

Now that we’ve settled into a more typical family structure, Louis and I truly understand each other better, which has strengthened our love and care for one another.

Ranvir and Ranjeet Singh Dehal were married in 2012, but their marriage ended after only a few months, just before their child was born.

The presenter, previously with BBC North West Tonight and now at ITV since 2012, shared that she’s currently a size 10 and feels healthier and more powerful than ever. She’s stopped following restrictive fad diets that used to control her life.

She expressed frustration that for years, the focus of fitness has been on achieving thinness, which she believes is harmful.

‘I’ve been thinner than I am now, but by doing an aloe vera diet for 21 days.

I once bought diet pills from a beauty salon. I ended up severely dehydrated with terrible skin, but I was thin, which was pointless.

She added: ‘I’ve always fluctuated between a size 8 and 12, but recently I’m more regularly a 10.

The changes in my body over the last year are simply the result of consistently going to the gym and paying more attention to what I eat. I don’t focus on the number on the scale; I care about being strong.

The TV personality, who has openly discussed her past struggles with food and eating, recently admitted that food remains a significant challenge for her.

She explained that, like many others, she’s turned to food for comfort when she’s feeling emotional, creating a cycle of overeating followed by restrictive eating. This pattern, she said, has affected every part of her life, in every situation.

She explained that food became a reliable source of comfort, a constant companion she could always turn to for a better mood, whether she was alone or surrounded by others.

But, she said she now feels ‘liberated by not having fear.’

I’ve been so inspired by her journey! Earlier this year, she decided to join a women’s-only gym and give weight training a try. It was tough going at first – a real challenge for her mindset, she said – but now she’s completely hooked and can’t stop telling everyone how amazing it is. She’s become a total advocate for it, and it’s wonderful to see!

She said: ‘At 48, I feel the most sure of myself. I feel more grounded.

I used to immediately assume the worst, so now I have to actively remind myself that everything is actually alright.

The February issue of Woman and Home is on sale December 31.
