The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date Teased Right Under Our Noses In New Trailer

Fans of The Elder Scrolls believe they’ve figured out the release year for The Elder Scrolls 6, thanks to a recent trailer from Bethesda. And after seeing the trailer, I agree with their prediction!

Gamers are known for spotting trends that aren’t really there – remember when people were trying to predict the GTA 6 trailer release date by looking at the moon? However, this new theory seems to have some actual substance to it.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Could Release In 2027

This is a pretty convincing theory

Bethesda recently announced something new: they’re re-releasing Skyrim. It might sound surprising, but the popular 2011 role-playing game is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. This version features quicker loading, better graphics, and includes a lot of extra content from the Creation Club.

Bethesda shared both a gameplay trailer highlighting new features and a fun, Christmas-themed live-action trailer. The Christmas trailer shows Santa and his elves preparing for Christmas, but one elf accidentally misplaces Santa’s list of who’s been naughty or nice. Instead of searching for it, the elf decides to give everyone a copy of Skyrim on the Switch 2! Santa is so pleased with this clever solution that the elf’s speech skill level increases to 27 – a playful reference to the leveling system in Skyrim.

Fans quickly started speculating that Bethesda’s choice of the number 27 had a hidden meaning.

“Speech increased to 27… Elder Scrolls 6 confirmed for 2027?” one comment under the video reads

“RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED FOR THE ELDER SCROLLS 6 20+27 = 2027, ” another writes.

Someone pointed out why those specific numbers were chosen for the level and speech skill, and it’s a really good point – it’s something I keep thinking about.

The Elder Scrolls 6 In 2027 Isn’t So Far-Fetched

Look at the facts

Although it sounds a bit far-fetched, there’s a reasonable basis for this idea. Leaked court papers from when Microsoft bought Bethesda indicated they were hoping to launch The Elder Scrolls 6 in 2026. However, creating a massive open-world role-playing game takes a long time, so that initial internal goal of 2026 could have easily been pushed back to 2027.

It’s actually quite possible that The Elder Scrolls 6 will come out in 2027. Perhaps 2026 will bring the first official announcement, as we haven’t heard anything substantial since 2018. Hopefully, that will be the case!
