Kate Walsh, known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy, is coming back to the show after nearly three years. Variety reports she’ll be playing Dr. Addison Montgomery in a new episode this season.
Season 22 started in October and we’ve already seen six episodes. The show is currently taking a break and will be back in January.

Few details about Walsh’s return have been released, but sources say he’ll be in an episode called ‘Strip That Down,’ scheduled to air on January 29, 2026.
Dr. Addison Montgomery was first introduced in the season one finale of the show in 2005, and it was revealed she was Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) soon-to-be ex-wife.

The neonatal surgeon became a key figure at Seattle Grace Hospital for the first three seasons, and continued to appear as a guest star on the show until its eighth season.
Addison became a popular character on Grey’s Anatomy, eventually starring in her own show, Private Practice. She returned to Grey’s Anatomy in 2021 and appeared through season 19, where her storyline involved recovering from a violent attack related to her work as a doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
The latest season of Grey’s Anatomy began immediately after a dramatic cliffhanger: a massive explosion at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

The unexpected event put several people’s lives at risk, including Dr. Monica Beltran (Natalie Morales), who was injured while performing surgery.
The season 22 premiere opened with Monica, despite being injured, guiding Dr. Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane) through the completion of a surgery that was interrupted by an explosion. However, after successfully stabilizing the patient, Jules heartbreakingly discovered that Monica had died while pinned beneath a fallen operating light.
In the US, you can watch the show Grey’s Anatomy on ABC every Thursday at 10pm Eastern Time. If you’re in the UK, past seasons are available to stream on Disney+.
