Cooking is a key part of surviving and getting stronger in Where Winds Meet. By preparing meals, you can regain health and gain temporary boosts that can be very helpful in combat. This guide covers everything about cooking in the game, from simple recipes to advanced dishes, and includes a complete list of all the Recovery and Buff meals you can make.
How to Cook in Where Winds Meet

In Where Winds Meet, like many open-world RPGs, you’ll need to unlock cooking recipes before you can make dishes. The recipes are already listed in the cooking menu, but you’ll need to do things like complete quests, win fishing contests, or explore new areas to actually unlock them.
Next, it’s time to collect the ingredients you’ll need. You can get these by hunting, gathering plants, fishing, or buying them from traders.
Now that you have the recipe and ingredients, you can start cooking! Look for a fire with a pot over it – you’ll often find these near towns, places to rest in the wild, or campsites.
When you find one, here’s what you need to do:
- Approach the cooking station and interact with it to open the cooking interface.
- Choose a recipe you want to prepare. If you haven’t unlocked many yet, you can start with the basic ones.
- Check the required ingredients shown on the recipe screen, making sure you have them in your inventory before you begin.
- Add your ingredients to the pot and confirm the cooking action to start preparing the dish.
- Wait for the animation to finish as your character cooks the meal.
- The freshly made dish will now appear in your inventory and can be used for health recovery or temporary buffs.
Cooking a meal consumes your stamina, so keep this in mind when preparing multiple servings.
All Cooking Recipes in Where Winds Meet

As of right now, Where Winds Meet features 19 different cooking recipes. These recipes fall into two categories: those that restore health (Recovery Meals), and those that provide temporary stat boosts (Buff Meals).
Recovery meals gradually restore your health over time. Buff meals, however, temporarily increase either your maximum health or physical attack power for up to 30 minutes.
