ITV has denied reports that boxer Conor Benn was set to appear on this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
Oh my gosh, I was SO sure Harper Benn – Nigel Benn’s son, can you believe it?! – was going to be a latecomer on the show next year! I mean, a boxing champ’s kid in the jungle? It would have been amazing! But apparently, he had to pull out at the very last second because of a fight he’s got lined up. Seriously?! It’s such a shame, I was already picturing all the challenges he’d crush. I’m gutted!
However, an ITV spokesperson has since confirmed the rumour is ‘categorically untrue.’
Conor was planning to travel to Australia on Sunday, the day after his boxing match with Chris Eubank Jr, to begin appearing on a reality show similar to ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’.
Tom Read Wilson and Vogue Williams were confirmed as the late arrivals for this year’s series.
According to a source, Conor really wanted to participate, but it proved too difficult to fight on Saturday night and then immediately travel to Australia. The timing just didn’t work out.

He might have been able to pull it off by arriving late, but boxing is so unpredictable that any injury would have grounded him – he wouldn’t have been able to travel.
Ultimately, both ITV and Conor decided the risk was too great, but there’s still a possibility it could happen later on.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Conor for comment.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I just heard that Angela Rayner – yes, the Angela Rayner – is seriously considering going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Apparently, talks are really far along! I’m already planning my votes, honestly. This is amazing!
There were reports that the former housing secretary was a potential candidate for a role at ITV, but it turned out ITV executives actually expected him to join.
Sources close to the situation revealed that Angela received a warning: participating in the reality show ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ could jeopardize her future political career.
The former deputy prime minister stepped down from her government positions in September after it was revealed she hadn’t paid £40,000 in taxes on a flat she bought in Hove, East Sussex.
Oh my goodness, you will NOT believe this! I just found out that ITV tried to get Angela onto ‘I’m A Celeb’! Can you imagine?! Apparently, Richard Osman and Marina Hyde spilled the beans today about how close they came to actually succeeding! I’m simultaneously thrilled she didn’t go – she’s too good for that jungle! – and devastated I won’t get to see her hilarious reactions to bushtucker trials. Seriously, I’m still reeling!

On their podcast, The Rest Is Entertainment, the hosts discussed how Ant and Dec have said they don’t want any more politicians on their show following Nigel Farage’s appearance in 2023.
The Reform Party leader finished third on the show, earning £1.5 million for their appearance. They weren’t the first politician to compete – Nadine Dorries, Edwina Currie, Stanley Johnson, and Matt Hancock all appeared in previous years, in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2022 respectively.
Richard and Marina reported that ITV was offered an interview with Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey, but the network decided not to include another politician at that time.
However, when Angela emerged as a potential, they simply couldn’t say no, it was understood.
Richard said ITV received another offer they felt they couldn’t refuse.
Marina explained that Angela Rayner was a natural fit for the opportunity, and it would have been difficult to decline her involvement. Rayner progressed quite far in the process, with discussions ongoing, and this is a significant achievement for her.
Last week was turbulent for the Labour party, but this week could be even more chaotic. Imagine if Angela Rayner was effectively launching a leadership bid, highlighted by a bizarre moment – eating kangaroo testicles on a popular ITV show.
The host pointed out that she clearly intends to re-enter active politics. They also highlighted that if she does, it would mean leaving during parliamentary sessions.
Richard joked that it would be amusing to watch the reaction to next week’s Budget while someone else was having a rather unusual meal – specifically, emu anus. He then added, with a playful exaggeration, that everyone would be doing the same after the Budget is revealed.
Marina thought Angela would have been a fantastic guest, but her decision to return to politics unfortunately made it impossible.
‘I think what happened is obviously she does wish to return to frontline politics,’ she said.
She was warned that taking such an action would have irreversible consequences. However, I believe the people who issued that warning aren’t currently in a position to determine anyone’s future possibilities.
‘We’ll have to wait and see but sadly that booking did not occur.’
Richard suggested ITV had a feeling the deal would go through, and Marina agreed, stating they believed it progressed very far.
