So, the crypto markets are doing that thing again. You know, the thing where they drop faster than a lead balloon. Bitcoin, bless its heart, has tumbled below the once-mighty $100,000 mark, landing at its lowest point in six months. And altcoins? Oh, they’re having a lovely time too, with their value dropping like they’re in a race to the bottom.
People are panicking, volatility is making a guest appearance, and everything smells like fear, but… not everyone is freaking out. Some so-called experts are telling us, “Hey, this is nothing. It’s just a blip on the radar, not a real bear market.” Here’s why you should (or shouldn’t) care.
Analysts Say This Is Not a Real Bear Market
Enter Haseeb Kerem, the Managing Partner at Dragonfly Capital. He’s not buying into the whole “bear market” hysteria. According to Haseeb, the current downturn is a walk in the park compared to what the industry went through in 2022. Oh yeah, remember that year? It was like crypto’s version of the Hunger Games, with major collapses happening every other week. Luna, 3AC, FTX, Genesis, BlockFi, Axie-everything felt like it was one click away from an epic disaster.
In Haseeb’s words, “TBH this is the easiest bear market I’ve ever seen.” It’s almost like you’ve all forgotten how 2022 unfolded. It was a mess-like a bunch of falling dominos, but somehow, we all survived. The FTX debacle? More like a crypto horror show. But did we all give up? No! We picked ourselves up and kept going like the resilient, slightly crazy crypto fanatics we are.
TBH this is the easiest bear market I’ve ever seen.
Seems like most of you have forgotten what 2022 was like. Luna collapsing, then 3AC, then FTX, then Genesis, BlockFi, Axie, NFTs-pretty much everything felt like a house of cards.
And then after all that stuff collapsed, the…

Fundamentals Remain Strong
But hey, hold your horses. Haseeb’s not done. He’s quick to point out that while prices may be taking a dip, the fundamentals? Still rock solid. The crypto ecosystem is still functioning, like a slightly disheveled, but working engine. It’s the crypto version of a messy but functional relationship, and I think we’ve all been there.
Some folks might argue that the recent drama-like the “largest liquidation event in crypto history”-showed just how fragile the market is. But Haseeb’s not having it. He argues that the event seemed huge because, well, crypto prices are higher than they were before. And honestly, the reports we’re getting are more detailed. In short: this isn’t a collapse, it’s just some people losing their shirts while everyone else holds on for dear life.
And to the guy wondering why anyone would get into a market where prices can crash 99% in a minute, Haseeb’s like, “Listen, we’ve survived worse. Like, much worse. Just look at the whole of 2022. That was a disaster, and we’re still here. Plus, this is a market that has already seen some extreme lows. A little dip in altcoins isn’t going to scare us off.”
The End of Bear Phase?
Now, let’s bring in Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley. He’s got some big thoughts on the “four-year cycle” that used to define crypto. According to him, that model’s as outdated as the flip phone. The market’s evolved, and with Bitcoin ETFs and new political players like the Trump administration, we’ve entered a whole new era. It’s like crypto has entered a phase where it’s not so much about the bear phase anymore. If you ask him, crypto’s been in a “quiet” bear phase for six months and it’s almost over. So… yay?
Horsley says the current market setup has never been stronger. In other words, things are about to get wild, in the best possible way. No need to panic, folks-crypto might be on the verge of its most bullish moment in a decade. But, you know, don’t quote me on that. I’m just the messenger.
In the meantime, Bitcoin is currently chilling at $96,902. Sure, it’s down by over 6% in the past 24 hours, but who’s counting? The point is, despite all the chaos and drama, the crypto market seems to have a little more backbone than it used to. At least for now. Until the next “largest liquidation event,” that is.
