FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have announced a significant expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign, titled The Forsaken Hollows. Players can expect the DLC to be available on all platforms in early December 2025.
The announcement of the expansion likely won’t surprise dedicated fans. FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa, hinted at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree plans during their earnings report on November 6th. They initially said new content would arrive before their fiscal year ended in March 2026. However, they’ve now confirmed a specific release date, moving beyond that initial timeframe.
Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows DLC Coming December 4
The first expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign, called The Forsaken Hollows, was shown during Sony’s recent State of Play Japan event. A trailer lasting just over a minute and a half highlighted gameplay and boss battles. The expansion will be available on all platforms December 4th.
The Forsaken Hollows Adding 2 New Elden Ring Nightreign Classes
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign expansion will add two new character classes, called Nightfarers. The Scholar specializes in arcane magic and tactical awareness, while the Undertaker combines faith-based power with physical strength for a powerful, close-combat playstyle. These new classes debut with challenging boss fights in a new area called The Great Hollow, a large, cavernous region within Limveld.
Some Elden Ring Nightreign Players Already Own The Forsaken Hollows
Players who already own the Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring Nightreign will automatically receive the new content, The Forsaken Hollows, for free. The Deluxe Edition normally costs $54.99, which is $15 more than the standard game. Before today, Bandai Namco offered a $15 upgrade to the Deluxe Edition called the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, which is now known as The Forsaken Hollows. The Deluxe Edition originally included a digital mini soundtrack and artbook as bonuses for pre-ordering.
The Forsaken Hollows Confirmed Contents
- 2 new Nightfarers: Scholar and Undertaker
- 1 new Shifting Earth environment
- New bosses
- Pre-order bonuses: digital mini soundtrack and artbook
When the Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring Nightreign launched, it included a guaranteed single DLC expansion. Any future expansions will likely depend on how well this first one sells. As of July 2025, the game had already sold over 5 million copies. Kadokawa Corporation believes the upcoming DLC will continue to drive sales and keep Elden Ring Nightreign popular for some time.
