Capcom recently posted on Steam, expressing gratitude to players for supporting their games. However, they also warned that several Monster Hunter titles may stop functioning correctly on Windows 10 after October 14th, and they can no longer guarantee compatibility.
This basically means they will stop supporting those games on Windows 10 from now on.
However, this doesn’t mean players can’t still enjoy those games. It just means that future system or game updates might cause them to stop working properly on Windows 10. It’s a possibility, but not a certainty.
This announcement appeared on the page for Monster Hunter Wilds, but it will also impact several other Monster Hunter games, such as Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter Rise.
This also means that Capcom can’t promise these games will work correctly on older operating systems that are no longer supported. If you have problems running these games, Capcom can only offer help using information they collected before they stopped supporting Windows 10. They won’t be able to troubleshoot issues arising from unsupported operating systems. Essentially, support is limited to what was known prior to the support cutoff.
These kinds of updates aren’t limited to just Capcom, though. Valve announced on their Steam support blog that they’re ending support for the 32-bit version of Windows 10. Their information shows that only 0.01% of systems reporting through the Steam Hardware Survey are currently using Steam on that version of Windows.
The good news is, you can still enjoy 32-bit games even with Windows 10, but please be aware that official support for these games will no longer be available.
