In a shocking (and frankly, bewildering) turn of events, a bill has been introduced in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. This bill, known as HB1812, aims to make it illegal for public officials-or their families-to hold Bitcoin. Yes, you heard that right, Bitcoin! 😱
Still Free to Hold? 🏛️
For now, members of Congress are not subject to the same restrictions. They can still hold Bitcoin, as long as they comply with existing disclosure laws (because transparency is totally *always* a thing). Several members of both parties-yes, even your favorite Republican and Democratic folks-have previously disclosed their crypto holdings. They include names like Michael Collins (R-GA), Barry Moore (R-AL), and Jeffrey Jackson (D-NC). I’m sure they’re just holding onto it for “educational purposes” though… 😏
