Oops! Turkish Crypto Exchange BtcTurk Loses $48 Million in Latest Digital Heist!

Well, well, well, looks like BtcTurk, the oh-so-reliable Turkish crypto exchange, has just been hacked for a cool $48 million. Yep, you read that right, 48 MILLION! Someone must’ve left the backdoor wide open for these cyber burglars. The sneaky attackers managed to move the funds straight from the exchange’s hot wallet to two brand-new, shiny addresses. 😬

According to the ever-vigilant Cyvers Alerts (because who else would catch this? Certainly not the exchange), BtcTurk’s been up to some shady business with fund transfers across all kinds of blockchain networks: Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Mantle Network, and Polygon. Sounds like someone was trying to make a quick getaway! 🚀

🚨ALERT🚨Oh, and guess what? $48 million worth of digital assets are MIA after some ‘unusual activity’ on BtcTurk. Just 30 minutes ago, Cyvers’ system caught alerts across multiple chains. Talk about a digital crime spree! 🕵️‍♂️

Apparently, the attackers didn’t waste any time. They swiftly completed their transfers and started swapping assets like they were at a crypto yard sale. And guess what? The Cyvers team was all over it, contacting BtcTurk faster than you can say “blockchain.” And, naturally, withdrawals and deposits have been suspended because why not throw in some inconvenience for the loyal users? 🙄

Now, despite the exchange losing a small fortune, don’t expect any official statement from BtcTurk anytime soon. They’re probably too busy scrambling to fix the mess they’ve found themselves in. CoinMarketCap, however, was able to confirm that the exchange had a massive $312 million in 24-hour trading volume and hundreds of assets listed for both spot and perpetual trading. Quite the portfolio for someone to swipe, huh? 🤷‍♂️
