Clues Suggest We Might See an Elder Scrolls 6 Reveal This August
Despite leaving fans disappointed with no new releases at the June Xbox Game Showcase, the announcement that Bethesda will feature at Xbox’s Gamescom presentation in August has sparked much excitement and speculation about whether we might finally see The Elder Scrolls 6.
Frankly, it’s no secret that we’ve been eagerly awaiting news about The Elder Scrolls 6 ever since the initial teaser in 2018. Bethesda’s silence has only heightened our anticipation. Could this be the moment when they unveil the official reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6? Or are we merely looking forward to a Starfield expansion instead?
Could Gamescom 2025 be the Moment The Elder Scrolls 6 Fans Have Been Waiting For

Seeing that Bethesda was missing from this year’s Summer Game Fest made me cock an eyebrow, but switching gears to Gamescom has fans such as myself thinking this could have been their strategy from the start.
The proposed strategy might pave the way for the long-anticipated unveiling of “The Elder Scrolls 6”. Unlike Summer Game Fest, which Bethesda chose not to attend this year, Gamescom provides a dedicated platform with a robust European fanbase, a demographic where the “Elder Scrolls” series resonates strongly due to the region’s affinity for fantasy RPGs.
We’re returning to @gamescom, August 20 – 24.
See you there! #xboxgamescom

With Bethesda’s flagship titles such as Starfield having entered their post-launch phases, it seems logical that the studio should shift its attention towards the long-anticipated project that fans have eagerly been looking forward to – The Elder Scrolls 6. Hints of this are evident in the marketing efforts being made, albeit subtly, with no trailers or posters yet unveiled. However, the studio’s backing of Skyblivion, a fan-made mod, serves as an intriguing indication of things to come.
It’s important to note that thus far, no definite information has been revealed, and everything seems to be based on speculation. There’s a possibility that the excitement might lead us towards a Starfield DLC rather than an official unveiling of The Elder Scrolls 6.
Bethesda Xbox Gamescom Showcase: Opportunity for something great or just a fad?

Although there’s increasing excitement, fans should temper their anticipation. Known for gradual developments, Bethesda is following a similar approach with The Elder Scrolls 6. Given the game’s progress, it appears to be quite some time before completion. An update or estimated release date might not be forthcoming, as Bethesda seems uninterested in sharing one, unless they decide otherwise by August.
Conversely, the upcoming Starfield DLC doesn’t seem all that enticing; it pales next to the prospect of a new Elder Scrolls game. Admittedly, we don’t know exactly what Bethesda will unveil at their Xbox Gamescom Showcase in August, but we certainly hope for something extraordinary.
Regardless of whether the studio plans another Starfield DLC according to their yearly schedule, it remains uncertain for fans just how comprehensive this expansion might turn out to be, given that Bethesda has a lot on their plate already. This is an experience that CD Projekt Red can possibly empathize with, at least to some degree.
