Vindictus Defying Fate on PS5, PS4 and Xbox? Console release explained
It’s indisputable that Nexon aims to cater to every niche within the gaming industry. They roll out games spanning multiple genres, from single-player action RPGs like The First Berserker: Khazan, to coop shooters such as The First Descendant and 2D fighters like DNF Duel. Recently, they’ve revisited the world of Vindictus, an MMO initially launched in 2010, with Vindictus: Defying Fate, an upcoming action RPG where players engage powerful adversaries. PC gamers can already participate in this game through the ongoing Alpha Test. As for console owners, let’s find out what they have planned.
Console release and Alpha tests of Vindictus Defying Fate
First off, I regret to inform you that the Vindictus Defying Fate Alpha Test is not playable on consoles. But fear not! This doesn’t necessarily mean that the game won’t eventually arrive on PlayStation and Xbox. In fact, as stated in the FAQ posted on the official Discord channel, Nexon has confirmed that console ports are indeed under development. Their intention is to unveil all versions of the game simultaneously.
A: Playing on consoles is not supported during the Alpha Test.
At present, we’re working hard to create the game, aiming for its console release synchronously with the game’s official debut.
It seems you’re asking about when the official premiere is scheduled. Unfortunately, developers haven’t provided us with that information just yet. However, given that Vindictus Defying Fate is still undergoing testing, it might significantly influence the release date.
Currently, it’s confirmed that the game will be playable on consoles, however, we can’t definitively say which specific platforms it will be on yet. Owners of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can feel reassured, as Nexon has previously ported games to these devices. As for PS4 and Xbox One, the situation is less clear-cut. The First Descendant is playable on them, but The First Berserker: Khazan has not been ported before. Ultimately, it will depend on how much power the new game requires to run smoothly.
