I’m really excited for this new horror series coming to Netflix! It’s called Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, created by Haley Z. Boston, and I heard it’s super atmospheric. It drops on Thursday, March 26th, 2026 – mark your calendars!
The popular streaming service revealed the news today, January 28th, and released initial images from the upcoming horror series. The show is executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Stranger Things.
The Duffer brothers recently praised Haley Z. Boston’s new series, saying they were immediately impressed by her script. They believe she’s a remarkably talented writer with a unique style.

Featuring Camila Morrone, known for her role in The Night Manager, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is a new horror series that Netflix calls atmospheric and suspenseful.
This series takes place during a wedding, showing the bride and groom in the week before their disastrous wedding day. Don’t worry, that’s not giving anything away – the title itself hints at what’s to come!
Adam DiMarco, known for his roles in The White Lotus and Overcompensating, will play the groom opposite Morrone’s bride. The cast also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, Karla Crome, Zlatko Burić, Gus Birney, and Jeff Wilbusch.
Boston shared with Tudum that horror is a natural fit for them, explaining it’s how they understand and work through their own feelings and experiences.
Horror movies let us safely confront difficult emotions and really dig into our deepest fears.
Boston promised fans a feeling of “deep and disturbing unease,” and Tudum shared that the show will heavily focus on its characters.
“I love to explore characters. I think sometimes that’s lacking in the horror genre,” said Boston.
I usually start with strong characters, realistic dialogue, and a bit of humor, then layer in the unsettling horror. Basically, I aim to create something that genuinely disturbs and frightens me – that’s what I’m going for.
The upcoming series, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, will be directed by Weronika Tofilska (who directed Baby Reindeer), along with Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann. Production is being handled by Upside Down Pictures, the company founded by the Duffer brothers.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen debuts Thursday 26 March 2026 on Netflix.
