Although Daniel Craig was becoming famous for playing James Bond in 2008, he also gave some excellent performances in other films. While the war drama Defiance, directed by Edward Zwick, received a somewhat mixed reaction, critics consistently praised Craig’s acting.
Good news for those wanting to watch or re-watch the film Defiance! It’s now available on BBC iPlayer after being shown on BBC Two last night, and will stay there for the next 29 days.
You can currently watch it on Prime Video with your subscription, but it will be taken off the service in two weeks.

The movie Defiance—not to be mistaken for the TV show with the same name—is based on the real story of the Bielski brothers. Craig, Jamie Bell, Liev Schreiber, and George MacKay play these brothers, who rescued and gathered Jewish refugees in Belarus during World War II.
When Defiance came out in 2008, The Times praised it as haunting, impressive, and moving. The Mail called it a gripping and well-made story, though they felt it could have been even better.

Even though there’s a lot of talk about Callum Turner potentially being the next James Bond, we still don’t have a confirmed answer. What we do know is that Amazon MGM Studios is now in charge of making the Bond films, so the next movie will likely be a fresh take on the series.
After the surprising news was revealed last year, Craig publicly thanked veteran Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who had overseen all five of his James Bond films.
He expressed his continued deep affection for both Barbara and Michael. He wished Michael a happy and restful retirement, and said he’s confident Barbara will be successful in any future projects, hoping to be involved in them as well.
Defiance is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
