Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Surprises With New Release Today

Season 2 is now even easier to watch. Plus, it comes with a new surprise.

The second season of Taylor Sheridan’s popular Western drama became available to stream online on April 20th. While a physical release on disc is planned, it probably won’t happen until late this year or early 2027. Even so, the show continues to deliver unexpected moments and keep viewers engaged.

Landman Season 2 Digital Release Comes With Bonus Features

The new Western drama series launched in November 2025 and became an instant hit, leading to a quick renewal for a second season which premiered a year later. Production for Season 3 is scheduled to begin in May, a bit later than the previous season’s March 2025 start date, but the recent release helps make the wait feel shorter.

The digital release of Landman Season 2 includes bonus content from Paramount Home Entertainment. A highlight is “Going Deeper: Inside Landman Season 2,” a nearly 30-minute featurette. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at the season, reuniting the cast and crew to discuss the increasing stakes for Tommy Norris, the themes of family, power, and danger, and the development of relationships, while also hinting at an even more dramatic next season.

Another extra scene, “Finding Character in Clothing,” runs for 8 minutes and 25 seconds. In it, costume designer Janie Bryant explores the wardrobe from Season 2 of Landman, showing how clothing helps define each character and their social standing. From everyday denim and shirts to sharp suits and individual styles, every outfit choice represents the characters’ Texas heritage, who they are, and the differences between their lives.

Landman Was a Divisive Release

Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace (who originally developed the podcast Boomtown), the series follows those chasing wealth during a massive oil boom. This boom isn’t just changing lives – it’s having a huge impact on the climate, the economy, and global politics.

Tommy Norris is nearing his limit in Season 2 as he tries to support Cami Miller, the new CEO of M-Tex Oil. Their challenges are proving to be much tougher than either of them expected.

Landman features a talented cast including Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, and Oscar nominees Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott (who joined in Season 2). The series also stars Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

Okay, so this show really took off, but it’s funny – critics loved it right away, but regular viewers took a little more convincing. It’s got an 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, which is great, but audiences only gave it a 57%. And things got trickier with the second season; it only got a 48% approval rating. A lot of the complaints seem to center around how the show portrays its female characters, which is something the creator, Taylor Sheridan, is getting a lot of heat for.

Landman is streaming on Paramount+ and is now available on digital platforms.
