Good news for fans of The Hunger Games! You’ll be able to watch the popular CW series online for free before the new movie, Sunrise on the Reaping, comes out in November.
Tubi has announced that the sci-fi series will be available to stream starting in May 2026. Originally airing from 2014 to 2020 with 100 episodes over seven seasons, the show is set in a future where Earth has been devastated by a nuclear war. Humanity now lives in space, and nearly a century later, a group of young criminals are sent back to the planet to discover a frightening community of survivors.
The 100 Delivered Epic Sci-Fi Action for 7 Seasons
The television series The 100 featured a large cast, including Eliza Taylor as Clarke Griffin, Thomas McDonell as Finn Collins, Bob Morley as Bellamy Blake, and Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia Blake. Adapted from the novel of the same name, the show primarily follows Clarke and Bellamy as they guide a group of survivors after they return to Earth and attempt to connect with those still in space.
Blending science fiction and action, The 100 consistently thrilled viewers with its exciting plot and unexpected twists. The show was particularly strong in its early seasons, exceeding expectations for a teen drama as a group of young people struggled to rebuild life on Earth.
As a huge fan of The 100, I was so excited to see how well-received it is! Rotten Tomatoes shows Season 1 is ‘Certified Fresh’ with 76%, but get this – Seasons 2, 5, and 7 all got a perfect 100% rating! That’s amazing. Thankfully, none of the seasons were considered ‘Rotten’. While the show was generally loved throughout its run, it seems like a lot of fans really connected with the earlier seasons, though Season 7 definitely sparked some debate among us!
The 100 Fans Almost Got a Legendary Spin-Off Series
The show The 100 gained a dedicated following and received award nominations, including an Emmy nod for its visual effects in 2014. It was a popular series, and many fans hoped for continued stories within the show’s world, even beyond the planned ending.
In 2019, Jason Rothenberg, the creator of the show, started working on a prequel series. They even filmed a pilot episode disguised as part of the show’s last season, intending to reveal the story of how the devastating nuclear apocalypse happened and expand on the show’s history. However, the project remained in development for two years before The CW unfortunately decided to cancel it in 2021.
The 100 will be available to stream for free on Tubi this May.
