FromSoftware has already suggested a fix for Elden Ring Nightreign’s endless matchmaking error on PS5 – and it’s super simple

If you’ve been experiencing persistent matchmaking issues with Elden Ring Nightreign on your PS5 or PS4, it seems that FromSoftware might have already found a solution to the problem.

It appears that the release of Elden Ring Nightreign has generally run smoothly, with few significant server problems. However, one concern among players is an ongoing matchmaking error that seems to be exclusive to PlayStation consoles. Players on PS5 and PS4 have reported being trapped in never-ending matchmaking queues for the multiplayer mode.

It appears FromSoftware has proposed a solution for the issue. Earlier today, their player support team suggested on Twitter that if you’re encountering trouble with matchmaking, try pausing the process and then selecting to deploy it again. (This translation was done using Google.)

If you encounter an issue with Elden Ring: Nightreign and choose to play solo, you won’t be completely cut off from the game, but since there’s no crossplay for Elden Ring: Nightreign, PlayStation gamers will feel the impact of this more acutely because if one player can’t connect with others, it effectively reduces the overall community size by that individual.

Nightreign alone due to an error won’t exclude you from the game entirely, but without crossplay, the PlayStation community will suffer more because when one player can’t connect with others, they essentially reduce the total number of players in the community.

It’s great to see that the Nightreign release has been largely successful so far. On the contrary, I really hope this problem gets resolved swiftly. The Elden Ring Nightreign player count skyrocketed to nearly 300,000 players on Steam within an hour of its PC debut, suggesting a smooth launch overall.
