Fortunately, many exciting new mobile RPGs are already available for testing or will be released shortly. Let’s explore the variety of open-world RPGs on mobile that are aiming to become our next favorites – let’s get right to it!
Complete list of upcoming open-world RPGs like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves
Open-world RPGs are becoming increasingly popular, thanks to games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Now, even the creators of the massive mobile game Honor of Kings are entering the genre with their new title, Honor of Kings: World, an action RPG set to launch in China this spring.
Here’s a list of the open-world RPGs coming soon, and we’ll keep it updated with new releases, so check back often!
1. Honor of Kings: World
First up is Honor of Kings: World, a new action RPG from Level Infinite that builds on the popular Honor of Kings universe. This spin-off game lets you explore large areas, such as the Dreamweave Plains, play with well-known characters, and use their unique skills in exciting, quick battles.
What I love most about this game is how much freedom it gives you. You can challenge tough bosses like the Crimson Beast, call upon powerful allies like the Azure Beast, or simply relax and build a cozy home. It’s coming to China this spring!
2. Aniimo
I recently checked out Aniimo, and it’s a really cool creature-collecting ARPG made by Pawprint Studio and Kingsglory. Basically, you’re dropped into this beautiful world called Idyll, and you get to roam around, find and collect all sorts of cute creatures – I’ve already met Fentuft, Momand, and Cubbo! The best part? There’s this ‘Twinning’ thing where you can actually become these creatures, which is awesome for both exploring and fighting.
I’m really enjoying the Homeland feature – it’s cool to build and improve your own base, and your Aniimo character helps you collect things and explore the game world. Plus, with enjoyable modes like Egg Heist and others, the game seems very promising. Best of all, it’s coming out on several platforms this year!
3. Roco Kingdom: World
Introducing Roco Kingdom: World, a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) where you collect and care for cute pets. Developed by MoreFun Studios, a part of Tencent Games, the game takes place in a vibrant, open world. As a new explorer, you’ll discover, train, and build relationships with over 400 charming creatures called Rocos.
You can play this game by yourself at your own speed, or join forces with friends for a more social experience. Building on the original game, this version is fun and well-made, and importantly, it doesn’t use a ‘gacha’ system where you randomly try to unlock characters or items. Players in China can download it from the App Store.
4. FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time
Coming this summer to mobile devices is FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time, a relaxing social RPG developed by Level-5. The game lets you explore the island of Reveria alongside archaeologist Edward and his team as you work together to solve the island’s mysteries.
In this game, you can choose from 14 different professions, letting you easily switch between activities like collecting resources, making items, and fighting. As you explore, you can climb, swim, ride animals, and even change the landscape by building rivers and roads. You can find more information on the official website.
5. NTE: Neverness to Everness
NTE: Neverness to Everness is an upcoming open-world RPG developed by Hotta Studios, and I’m really looking forward to it! It’s scheduled to release on April 29, 2026. The game takes place in the colorful city of Hethereau, where you play as an Anomaly Hunter who takes on unusual supernatural cases.
While exploring the vibrant city and campus, you’ll slowly reveal its hidden secrets. You can also team up with allies who each have special skills to help you with missions and fights. I think this game has a lot of potential, and it reminds me of GTA. You can sign up now on the Google Play Store or App Store to be notified when it releases.
6. Azur Promilia
Azur Promilia is a fantasy role-playing game developed by Manjuu Games. It’s an anime-inspired adventure, similar to Genshin Impact, where you explore a colorful world and collect charming creatures. You can befriend and ride these creatures, like the Staray, as you journey through places such as Jinghua Cape and beyond.
Discover a variety of characters, including Terara and Han Youyou, and fight challenging bosses like Shadowblaze and Spitehorn. If you enjoy fantasy games with cute companions and a cast of female characters – similar to Azur Lane – be sure to check this out and pre-register on the official website!
7. Prism 2033
Prism 2033 is a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by CyberNest Entertainment. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game takes place in Flux City, a futuristic central hub connecting various worlds. Players become Investigators and can forge their own path through these diverse worlds, each offering unique environments, challenges, and stories.
You can play with friends to explore challenging areas, participate in massive spaceship battles, and form relationships with the game’s AI characters. The game is shaping up to be great, and features improved AI for more realistic interactions with NPCs. You can sign up to be notified when it launches on the official website.
8. ANANTA
I’m really excited about trying out ANANTA, a new open-world RPG from NetEase Games and Naked Rain! It’s set in this amazing city called Nova, and you get to play as an Esper. The best part? You team up with these super cute characters to solve mysteries and basically save the city from some really bad stuff that’s starting to happen.
You have complete freedom to explore the city – run across rooftops, swing from buildings, jump into cars, and use your surroundings to your advantage in fights, making each battle unique. With realistic characters, engaging interactions, and a variety of roles to choose from, this game is definitely worth checking out. Be sure to pre-register on the official website!
9. Sea of Remnants
I’m really excited about Sea of Remnants! It’s an RPG from NetEase Games, developed by Joker Studios, and it’s all about exploring the ocean. You play as a puppet sailor who’s lost their memory, traveling with a mysterious girl to these beautiful, detailed islands and trying to figure out your past. What I especially love is that your choices actually matter and have consequences, which makes the whole experience so much more engaging.
Throughout the game, you’ll encounter more than 300 unique characters and build relationships with them. From there, you can assemble a crew, improve your ship, and discover secret locations or take part in exciting naval combat against enemy ships and sea creatures. When you need a break, you can also fish, cook, or play mahjong. If this sounds interesting, be sure to pre-register on the official website – the game is launching this year!
Please be aware that some of the games mentioned may not be available in all regions, might have limited releases, or are still being developed.
That’s all for now, but I’ll keep this list updated with new games as they’re released. Mobile gaming is looking great, with major developers creating exciting new titles. Hopefully, we’ll see even more fantastic games soon!
