As a diehard Monster Hunter Wilds gamer, I couldn’t contain my excitement when they finally announced their collaboration with Street Fighter 6! The legendary fighters Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li are now joining our ranks. This crossover has been on everyone’s radar since a hint dropped during Monster Hunter Wilds’ first title update reveal. Now, it’s official – Capcom’s beloved action RPG has spilled the beans on every juicy detail of this much-anticipated partnership!
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been buzzing with excitement ever since the Monster Hunter Wilds Twitter account dropped a logo that looked strikingly similar to Street Fighter 6’s distinctive art style earlier in the week. This sent the community into a frenzy, and it wasn’t long before we were almost positive that a collaboration between these two Capcom titles was imminent. The big question on everyone’s lips was the extent and specifics of this crossover, and now, thankfully, those details have been confirmed!
In an official announcement, Monster Hunter Wilds unveiled the skins based on Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li, characters well-loved in Street Fighter 6. This collaboration now generates even more anticipation among Capcom enthusiasts as these iconic figures join the game. Starting from May 28 when the next update launches, players can obtain Akuma for free, while Cammy and Chun-Li will be available as paid DLC.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Street Fighter Collab Details
- Akuma hunter full armor set and layered equipment
- Blanka-Chan Palico full armor set and layered equipment
- Cammy full armor set and layered equipment
- Chan-Li full armor set and layered equipment
- Blanka-Chan pendant
- Street Fighter 6 stickers
- Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose
In a fresh partnership, the gameplay of Monster Hunter Wilds has been given an exciting new spin by incorporating several top-tier special moves from Street Fighter, such as the Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken. As demonstrated in the latest trailer, Akuma is able to execute a swift succession of melee combos that are potent enough to defeat even the most formidable monsters. The strength of his hand-to-hand combat is directly influenced by the weaponry and gear selected for him within Monster Hunter Wilds. In other words, arming him with more powerful equipment will enhance his DPS.
In addition to Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li, another Street Fighter character is stepping into the hunter world. The adorable Blanka-Chan, based on Blanka’s iconic doll, will be part of the upcoming update. Unlike the other three characters who are skins, Blanka-Chan will be featured as one of Monster Hunter Wilds’ Palico armor sets. For those not familiar, a Palico is a helpful creature that offers benefits such as buffs or extra damage output when fighting alongside the team.
In addition to the new content introduced in the May 28 update, players can also look forward to acquiring a Blanka-Chan pendant, a collection of Street Fighter-themed stickers, and special gestures such as Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku. What sets these gestures apart is that they come with attack properties, enabling players to employ them during gameplay.
