Matt Smith, known for his role in The Death of Bunny Munro and Doctor Who, will star in a new mystery-thriller called The Salamander Lives Twice. He’ll be acting alongside Imogen Poots.
According to Deadline, the House of the Dragon actor will play a mysterious man who appears on a secluded island. He’s well-dressed, wearing a Rolex watch, and carrying a locked briefcase, but has no idea who he is or how he got there.
While on the island, he encounters Iris, a striking and often-intoxicated woman who is the head of the family, along with the island’s other residents: her daughter, Goggy (played by Poots), and Baby, a very large butler who is always nude.

He finds himself pulled into their strange and crumbling reality, but it wasn’t by chance. What starts as a safe haven quickly becomes something much more unsettling and dangerous, filled with hidden grudges, treacherous family secrets, and brutal acts.
Archie Faulks from Embankment Films described the movie as a thrilling and funny ride in the style of Hitchcock, full of surprises and psychological tension. He believes viewers will be kept guessing until a shocking and memorable conclusion.
