Ever since its release last year, players have been anticipating a major update to mo.co, often referred to as “neo.” Now, it looks like we finally have a timeframe: Supercell plans to release this significant revamp to the monster-hunting action RPG in the summer of 2026.
During a recent interview with SuperVinny on YouTube, Community Manager João Freitas revealed some new information about the upcoming “Neo mo.co” update. He mentioned that internal discussions about the update have been going well and receiving positive feedback.
neo mo.co update: All the important talking points
It seemed players weren’t given enough long-term objectives, so we’re completely overhauling the system for building and customizing gear. Instead of creating combinations from separate parts, weapons will now have built-in special abilities and define how they’re played.
The way you advance in the game is being completely revamped. You’ll now be able to master individual weapons by leveling them up and earning special rewards. Plus, a new item called Upgrade Cores will replace the old upgrade system, making it easier to improve your equipment over time.
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a quick update on Neo Moco. We’ve been listening to all your feedback from the last playtest, and honestly, making the changes you suggested is taking a bit longer than we expected. So, unfortunately, Neo Moco won’t be launching before the end of March. We don’t have a new release date locked down yet, but we really want to get this right and deliver the experience you deserve. We appreciate your patience!

The game now includes a system for tracking monsters, similar to a detailed log. Competitive gameplay is also evolving, focusing more on skill and completing the game quickly rather than simply leveling up. But the most significant update is how the game makes money.
The game is getting rid of its gacha system. From now on, you’ll be able to buy cosmetic items directly with in-game currency, so there will be no more random chance involved. João also said the team is considering different prices for different regions, which has already been done successfully in other games made by Supercell.
We’re making some behind-the-scenes improvements that will have a real impact. We’re moving event management to a cloud system, which means our developers can quickly and easily create or modify events without needing to release full updates. This allows for changes to happen instantly, and could even lead to spontaneous, live events.
As a player, I’m really excited about the changes they’re making to how we all connect in the game! It sounds like they’re working on a new system to group us together for zones and activities, and the best part is it should help cut down on playing with bots. That’s a huge win for a better gameplay experience!
Instead of offering different graphics options, the game is being optimized to run well on all devices, even older or less powerful phones.
When will the neo mo.co update release
If you’ve been watching mo.co since it launched globally and entered open beta in 2025, it looks like the updated version is almost here. The big question now is: when will it actually be released?
The update is anticipated sometime this summer, likely in May or June of 2026. It could be pushed back to August or October 2026 if there are any unforeseen delays. We’re optimistic that whenever it arrives, the update will be a success.
