Beverley Callard, known from the show ‘I’m a Celebrity,’ recently shared news about her health after having surgery for breast cancer. She had a difficult two-month wait to get the results.
The beloved Coronation Street actress, 69, shared the sad news of her early cancer diagnosis on February 6th. Just two weeks later, she had surgery to remove several lymph nodes as a preventative measure.
In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday, she shared that doctors had successfully removed her cancer, but it had spread to a lymph node.
Beverley shared that her doctor at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital told her the surgery was a success and they were able to remove all of the cancer.
The actress shared that everyone is happy with how the surgery went, and doctors also removed three lymph nodes.
She explained it like this: think of lymph nodes as a staircase. If cancer is present in those nodes, it can spread, almost like climbing up the steps. It’s a simple way to understand it, though the actual process is more complex.
Beverley explained that the tests showed cancer in one of the lymph nodes, specifically the first one checked, but not in the others. She said it’s present, but the affected area is small.
The lymph node with the cancer will be sent to the United States for testing to find out how quickly the disease is likely to progress. Beverley should have the results in a few weeks.
She explained that if the condition is determined to be aggressive, she’ll need chemotherapy initially, followed by radiotherapy.
If the cancer doesn’t appear to be spreading quickly, I’ll proceed with the planned radiation treatment. For now, I just need to wait for the results and see what they show.
Honestly, hearing the results was such a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I was so relieved to learn the surgeries had gone well – that was really positive. But then finding out the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes brought back a lot of worry. And now, I’m stuck in this frustrating waiting period for what comes next. It’s just… tough.
Well, that happened, and I know many of you have experienced similar situations. That’s where things stand right now.
Earlier this month, Beverley shared that she was upset and couldn’t pretend to be happy because the results of her breast cancer surgery were delayed due to a large number of cases waiting to be processed.
The actress, known for her role on a popular soap opera, recently shared that she’s been fighting an illness. She received the diagnosis shortly after moving to Dublin to begin working on the Irish soap, Fair City.
Viewers of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ became worried about the actress’s health after she participated in difficult challenges so soon after revealing she was still fighting cancer.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m SO excited! One of the absolute icons from Coronation Street is back on our screens, and this time it’s on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ in South Africa! Seriously, seeing them again is just amazing – they’re a total legend and I’ve been waiting for this!
This season of the show differs from the usual Australian series because most of it was filmed in advance in September 2025. The winner will be announced in a live finale later this month.
Beverley announced in February 2026 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Some viewers of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ were confused because they didn’t realize the South Africa season was filmed several months prior to the announcement.
A viewer asked when the video was filmed, expressing concern that Beverley was previously reported to be undergoing cancer treatment and unwell.
