The popular crime series Bergerac, which broke viewing records when it first aired last year, is returning for a second series.
The first season of the ’80s revival show attracted an impressive 2.4 million viewers, making it the broadcaster’s most popular program in 2025. The show, starring Damien Molony, is now aiming to capture audiences once more with a new season full of surprising and complicated developments. The story follows Jim Bergerac (Molony) as he tackles the toughest case of his career, triggered by shocking incidents at a wedding in Jersey.
Jim has cautiously begun dating again, encouraged by his daughter Kim (Chloé Sweetlove), but he still misses his late wife and feels a void in his life. He doesn’t really expect to find someone new, and is mostly doing it to please Kim. However, when he meets Nicola (Camilla Beeput), a tourist on the island, they form a connection. Could this be the beginning of a new relationship for Bergerac?

Just after meeting Nicola, Bergerac is immediately thrown into a new investigation. The groom at a wedding has been found murdered in his hotel room, and his last words might reveal who killed him. Jersey is counting on their top detective to solve the case.

In an interview with ITV, actor Damien Molony, known for his role in The Split, expressed his excitement about reprising his role as Jim Bergerac. He said everyone involved put a lot of effort into the first season, and being able to return to Jersey and film another series felt like a well-deserved reward.
He added that having a second season brings a lot of confidence and a feeling of accomplishment.

Jim isn’t the only one finding love this season. Zoë Wanamaker’s character, Charlie Hungerford, will also be exploring a new romance with a delightful man named Nigel (played by Adrian Edmondson).
