Leaked Elden Ring Nightreign Images Hint Final Nightfarer Could Be an OP Samurai Class

As the release of Elden Ring Nightreign draws closer this month, FromSoftware has yet to formally reveal the final two Nightfarer character types that players can select in the game. Nevertheless, a leaked image suggesting these two classes seems to hint at their names and offer some insight into their potential roles. In Nightreign , each Nightfarer possesses unique abilities and plays distinctly, with archetypes like an Archer or Assassin serving as models.

Based on a recent leaked image from merchandising company MeeToMa, there seem to be hints about the final character classes of the Nightfarers. Although information outside these leaked images is scant, one character, known as “Executor,” appears to wear armor reminiscent of a Samurai-like enemy from Shadow of the Erdtree, specifically Rakshasa. While not definitively proven, if it is indeed Rakshasa armor, it would be quite logical for the final Nightfarer in the game to have a Samurai theme.

Rakshasa Is A Samurai Boss Found In Elden Ring

Based on limited information, the armor sported by the Nightfarer in the leaked Executor picture bears a striking resemblance to that seen in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Although the specifics are somewhat blurry, if the armor isn’t an identical match, it could be indicative of a character class designed around the concept. Given the widespread popularity of Rakshasa within the Elden Ring universe, both for its intriguing lore and powerful gameplay mechanics, including one of the strongest weapons in the game, it’s plausible that such a character could exist.

In the game SOTE, Rakshasa is a humanoid Samurai-like boss character who can optionally appear. Equipped with Rakshasa’s Great Katana, this character has a variety of Samurai-style attacks. The Great Katana was introduced as a new weapon type in the DLC, and among all options, Rakshasa’s version stands out as one of the best. Alongside the Rakshasa set, the Great Katana is among the most powerful and overpowered items in the game, with its Weed Cutter skill capable of dealing immense damage. This weapon surpasses any other Great Katana in the game and is ideal for a Samurai build in Elden Ring, due to its exceptional power.

In the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum within SOTE, you’ll encounter Rakshasa. Examining its abilities, weapons, and armor suggests that Rakshasa would make an excellent template for a character class archetype in Nightreign. The Rakshasa excels in swift, penetrating attacks with the Great Katana and causing blood loss, a status effect not yet central to the other confirmed Nightfarers but highly favored by players due to its popularity.

To date, there are six officially declared character classes in Nightreign: Wylder, Guardian, Ironeye, Duchess, Recluse, and Raider. The trailer above reveals these. In addition to the yet-to-be-confirmed characters Revenant and Executor, it appears that these eight distinct character archetypes strive for a balance between various playstyles and build types from Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree. Given the widespread popularity of the Samurai class across numerous Soulsborne games, its inclusion in the current roster seems fitting and logical.

At present, we don’t have concrete information about the last two Nightfarer characters yet. However, a leaked image hints at the Executor character class, which has sparked much discussion and anticipation. Personally, I’m optimistic that the Executor will be a Samurai-like class, as it aligns with my preferred playstyle alongside the Ironeye or Guardian classes. If this turns out to be true, I believe the Samurai archetype in Elden Ring Nightreign will be highly sought after by many Nightfarers.
