Lainey Wilson reveals she’s frozen her eggs ahead of wedding to Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges

Lainey Wilson has frozen her eggs in hopes of becoming a mom in the future.

It comes as the 33-year-old country singer prepares to marry fiancé Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges, 30.

Wilson shared that now that her music career is going well, she’s focusing on starting a family.

I’ve been completely dedicated to my music for years, and I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved, but honestly, I have other passions I want to explore too. That’s what I shared with People magazine – it’s not just about the music for me, there’s more I want to do with my life.

She shared that the egg retrieval process went well, expressing her gratitude for the chance to do it. She explained that people often expect things to happen on a certain schedule, and she’s relieved it worked out for her.

You can learn about how Lainey Wilson makes her music in her new Netflix documentary, ‘Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool,’ which will be available starting April 22nd.

More and more women over 30 are choosing to freeze their eggs to help preserve their ability to have children later in life, because a woman’s egg supply naturally declines as she gets older.

Egg freezing includes using medication to increase egg production, retrieving those eggs while the patient is asleep under anesthesia, and then preserving them with a special freezing solution, according to Baylor Medicine.

Patients pay to keep the eggs in a temperature-controlled vault before retrieving them for IVF.

Wilson remembered her childhood and said she wasn’t fantasizing about her wedding, but rather about the outfit she’d wear when she first performed at the Grand Ole Opry.

I wasn’t thinking about wedding dances—I was imagining the songs I’d play if I were performing at famous venues like Red Rocks or the Ryman Auditorium.

She also shared her desire to start a family, explaining that life often brings unexpected dreams and joys. She said, ‘You sometimes realize you want things you never even imagined.’

Wilson chose to freeze her eggs before she got engaged in February 2025.

She explained to People that she immediately began working on the project as soon as she returned from her European tour, making it a top priority. She had to deliberately block out time for it in her schedule.

The singer-songwriter observed that time passes incredibly quickly in the music industry, and they’re already making plans for events two years in the future.

I’m hoping that when I’m ready, I’ll be able to have a baby.

Last September her wedding plans came to light in a Daily Mail exclusive.

A source says Wilson is planning a large, country-themed wedding with the Pittsburgh Steelers player.

The event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, where the music artist owns a 30-acre property.

According to a source, that location is ideal because she has strong connections there, and Devlin also has roots in Alabama, which is just a four-hour drive.

According to a source, the wedding will have a playful, country-western theme – think classic cowgirl style with a bit of a modern, flirty edge.

Lainey’s already started wedding dress shopping! She’s envisioning something that flatters her figure and has a bit of Southern elegance – like a classic Southern belle combined with the style of a music star. She definitely won’t be wearing a cowgirl hat for the ceremony.

Duck proposed to his partner at the George Jones estate in Franklin, Tennessee. He presented a large diamond engagement ring inside a box shaped like a cowboy hat.

The twosome began dating in 2021, but didn’t make their red-carpet debut until 2023.

In January 2025, Lainey playfully suggested she might have to propose to her boyfriend herself, as she was hoping he would ask her to marry him.
