Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about my recent American Eagle campaign, and honestly, some of the criticism has been pretty harsh. Instead of letting it get me down, I decided to just keep doing my thing and show everyone I’m confident and comfortable with my choices. That’s why I just shot another campaign with them – I’m really proud of the work and I want to focus on the positive! It’s all about owning who you are and not letting negativity win, you know?

The video opens with Sydney asking viewers to guess what brand she’s wearing, then quickly shows clips of her modeling jean shorts.

Last summer, Sydney Sweeney sparked debate after starring in an American Eagle advertisement. The ad’s tagline, ‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,’ was a play on words referencing ‘great genes,’ and caused some controversy.

The ad campaign – and the actor’s appearance – quickly sparked controversy online in July, with many people claiming it promoted harmful ideas about racial purity and white supremacy. Some critics went as far as to compare it to propaganda used by the Nazis.

The Euphoria actress recently told People that not speaking out about the controversial advertisement actually made the situation worse.

I was really surprised by how people reacted,” Sweeney explained. “I only participated because I genuinely like the jeans and the company. I definitely don’t agree with the opinions some people associated with the campaign.

‘Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren’t true,’ she added.

American Eagle defended its campaign, emphasizing that it was about individual style, feeling good about yourself, and being genuine.

Sweeney stated she opposes hate and prioritizes kindness, explaining that she’s addressing this issue now to get rid of negativity.

The star shared that they always aim to unite people and strongly oppose hatred and division.

I used to believe in ignoring all press, both good and bad, but I’ve recently realized that staying silent hasn’t helped things – it’s actually made the situation worse and created more distance. I need to speak up.

‘So, I hope this new year brings more focus on what connects us instead of what divides us.’

The actress initially responded to the controversy surrounding her American Eagle advertisement in a November interview with GQ. She explained she had simply done a jeans commercial and hadn’t paid attention to the negative reaction because she was busy with filming.

She recently appeared in a jeans advertisement, and the public’s response was unexpected, though she admits she’s a huge fan. ‘I practically live in jeans and a T-shirt,’ she explained to the magazine.

I understood what the advertisement was promoting – jeans – but it didn’t really have any impact on me either way.

I’ve never felt the need to impose my beliefs on others. I’m confident in who I am, what matters to me, and that I’m a good person. I’m full of love and eager to see what the future holds, so I don’t let anyone else dictate my identity.

Her response at that time was perceived by some media critics and fans as dismissive.

Although the campaign started slowly, it quickly succeeded by differentiating itself from the competition.

The advertisement quickly sparked conversation and excitement, which helped American Eagle attract a lot of new customers. This led to a significant increase in sales, with many jean styles selling out and investors showing greater interest in the company.
