Despite being well-known for its extensive modding community that has thrived for close to two decades, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered won’t provide official support for user-generated modifications.
Oblivion Remastered.
This disheartening announcement arrived just a day following an audacious move by a modder named Boblivion, who audaciously renamed every single item in the original game to something related to “Bob” or “everything,” as the description states. Interestingly, the absence of mod support in Oblivion Remastered seems to be advantageous for the team working on an unofficial Oblivion remake, Skyblivion. They’ve recently stated that both projects can coexist and flourish, providing distinct gaming experiences for players.
If you’re encountering any gameplay hiccups while modding, they suggest you start by uninstalling your mods, then run a check on your game files through Steam or the Xbox App.
“I reckon modders will figure something out pretty quickly,” one confident fan reacts on Reddit.
“No kit sucks,” another agrees, “but it does not mean mods will be impossible.”
Let’s bear in mind that Oblivion Remastered just came out about two hours ago, yet it’s already sitting at the peak of Steam’s worldwide bestsellers. Give the mods some time to simmer down before we jump in.
