The third movie in the new Jumanji series finally has a title! The first trailer was shown at CinemaCon, revealing the film will be called Jumanji: Open World.
Although the official trailer isn’t out yet, a first look at the movie was shown to the audience, and Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black were on hand to present it.
Man, we’re so hyped to be back for another Jumanji! Seriously, this movie was a blast to make. I think it’s my favorite project I’ve ever worked on, honestly. That’s what I told The Hollywood Reporter, anyway.

While on stage, Johnson shared a heartwarming detail about the new film: half of the dice used were actually the same ones Robin Williams played with in the original Jumanji from 1995.
Giving a heartfelt statement, Johnson said: “Robin, as we like to say, this one’s for you.”

So, the new trailer is pretty wild! It shows Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan as, like, awkward, real-life versions of their video game characters. It’s kinda funny seeing them try to act like their avatars in the real world!
The trailer shows Alex Wolff’s character realizing they’re “stuck in demo mode,” and soon after, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s character suspects something is seriously wrong: “I’m beginning to suspect we’re not in Jumanji.”
After the success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), Jake Kasdan is back to direct the third film in the series.
Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Morgan Turner, and Danny DeVito are all returning to reprise their roles from earlier movies.

Late last year, Sony Pictures gave fans a sneak peek of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black returning as their characters Smolder, Mouse, Ruby, and Shelly.
The studio announced the release date for the next Jumanji movie on X (formerly Twitter) with a group photo taken in the street. They revealed the film will be in theaters Christmas 2026, with the hashtag #JumanjiMovie.
Dwayne Johnson recently told Variety that he enjoys making the films he’s been in and plans to return to the franchise in the future.
Jumanji: Open World is due out in cinemas on 25 December 2026.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautiful, full-color 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
