Yesterday, just two days ago, Warhorse Studios dropped the 1.2.4 update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and let me tell you, the hardcore mode they’ve been building up to is here! This update cranks up the difficulty in a big way – expect a more challenging experience as they’re minimizing the user interface and eliminating fast travel options. What’s more, players are now required to pick at least three out of ten available penalties, adding an extra layer of realism and toughness to our gaming journey.

Some players may choose to engage with various tougher conditions from the outset, such as an intensified aroma, a potential risk of spinal injury during bending movements, or a reduced rate of progress. While these elements might dampen enjoyment for some, others, seeking a genuine test, opt to initiate the game with all ten of them enabled.

Absolutely, the primary purpose of the challenging mode is that it’s intended to be difficult and frustrating. Even though fans might grumble, they appreciate the experience and often find a sense of beauty in the struggle.

At times, it can be challenging, but yes, I find myself in the forest near Trosky Castle after spending a night at the millers. As for this Hardcore run, I certainly appreciate it. Every action I take is deliberate now. I’m not as robust as before. I only gather essential items instead of everything within reach. After five hours in Hardcore (and obviously my 130 hours of regular play, two runs), I am very familiar with this map. To be honest, I truly enjoy the experience now. It’s much more satisfying completing Quests, traveling, interacting with people, looting, stealing, fighting – everything feels rewarding.
