Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia: The next Pokémon TCG sets to arrive in Japan this August
Just as mentioned during Pokémon Presents, Mega Evolution made its comeback in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, featuring a few Mega-related expansion packs.
On August 1, 2025, two fresh Pokémon Trading Card Game sets are scheduled for a Japanese launch – the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia. These sets are anticipated to be part of a forthcoming series, tentatively named Pokémon Card Game MEGA.
At present, there are just two cards included in the collection: Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. Earlier, The Pokémon Company showcased these Mega Evolution cards during the Pokémon Presents livestream. However, during this unveiling, their Japanese versions came with an additional detail – their set identifiers, which are marked as “M1L.
Meet the MEGA-iconic cards for Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia
In the upcoming Mega Brave series, Mega Lucario will take on the role as the main character, while Mega Gardevoir will be the symbol for Mega Symphonia. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for the English versions of these sets, so keep an eye out for further announcements in the near future.
More products for the Pokémon TCG: MEGA series
Alongside the regular sets, the Pokémon series focused on Mega Pokémon will additionally feature a high-end Trainer Box, plus two themed decks highlighting Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex.
The High-End Coach Kit is set to arrive with a selection of booster packs, which typically contain Energy cards, damage indicators, and unique status markers as additional items.
Conversely, specifics regarding the contents of the Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diance ex decks remain undisclosed at this time. Nevertheless, we can speculate that their structure will be akin to the layout of prior theme decks in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG).
It’s important to point out that the 2019 series featuring the Solar and Lunar Eclipse of the Sun and Moon was the last one to introduce Mega Evolution Pokemon as TAG TEAM GX cards. After over five years, these powerful Pokemon are set to return to the Standard format, which could significantly reshape the game’s future dynamics.
