Yian Kut-Ku is a relatively safe target to learn the system effectively, making him an ideal starting point for beginners.

Here, we’ll walk you through all the steps required for you to catch the Yian Kut-Ku during the course of the primary narrative.

To catch the Yian Kut-Ku for the “New Ecosystems” mission, your initial step should be centered around engaging in combat with it, with a primary focus on inflicting damage and diminishing its strength.

After inflicting sufficient harm, Alma will inform you that you’ve earned some supplies as a reward for subduing monsters. Additionally, you might observe that the Yian Kut-Ku is hobbling and could attempt to retreat to another location.

As soon as Alma speaks about supplies, quickly hop on your Secret steed and retrieve its pouch. Grab the EZ Tranq Bombs (the ones with the pink smoke cloud symbol) and the EZ Shock Traps (the yellow icon featuring a lizard and rectangle). Store them in your primary inventory.

Afterwards, ensure that the Yian Kut-Ku is still engaging in combat with you. If it has run away, pursue it until it resumes fighting. However, refrain from attacking it further, as your goal isn’t to harm or kill it.

Once you’ve re-encountered the monster, set the EZ Shock Trap beneath your feet. Lure the Yian Kut-Ku into attacking you so that it lands on the trap. This will electrify the creature, causing it to halt temporarily when it steps on the trap.

Immediately after the Yian Kut-Ku sets off the EZ Shock Trap, switch your gear to EZ Tranq Bombs. Then, hurl them at the monster, which should make it fall asleep. From what we’ve observed, two EZ Tranq Bombs should be sufficient to put this Yian Kut-Ku to sleep. This will accomplish the objective and quest, so that’s all you need!
