All Palico Upgrades In Monster Hunter Wilds
Discover methods for enhancing your Palico in Monster Hunter World so you can derive optimal assistance from your Felyne companion.
From the realm of Monster Hunter World to the new adventure here, I, as an eager fan, have noticed some intriguing alterations in my loyal Palico companions. Unlike before, we can no longer interact with Felyne Gadgets for healing or item requests. Instead, our trusty Palicos are equipped with unique abilities, such as deploying healing items, setting traps, or even operating machines during a fierce battle. But here’s the twist – they will utilize these skills autonomously, adding an element of surprise to each encounter.
Initially, not all Palico utilities will be accessible right away. Instead, your Palico has an independent side quest series, progressing through which will successively enhance its skills and resources. In this article, we’ll walk you through the methods for upgrading your Palico in Monster Hunter Worlds, detailing each upgrade step by step.
How to Upgrade Your Palico in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Worlds, to level up your Palico, you need to finish all the assigned side quests. Your Palico will give you a total of five side quests to accomplish.
- Healing Help
- Flash Course
- A Gutsy Move
- Rath-from-Above, Go!
- Purrfect Plundering
Here are the details of these side missions to upgrade your Palico in Monster Hunter Wilds:
Healing Help
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your first side quest involves your Palico asking you to catch a Vigorwasp. These creatures are abundant throughout the game’s world, and you can capture them anywhere. To do this, select the Capture Net from your radial menu, then use your slingshot to trap it. Once completed, return to your Palico at any Base Camp to finish the first side mission.
Filling this up will enhance the healing power of your Palico’s Vigorwasp, aiding in faster recovery when your health is depleted during fights.
Flash Course
Just like the last task, for this one, you’ll be catching Flashflies. You can find them often in Monster Hunter Wilds, and as before, use your Capture Net from the radial menu to collect them. Afterward, head back to any Base Camp to update your Palico on your progress, which will advance their mission chain.
During a hunt in Monster Hunter World, this optional task empowers your Palico companion to occasionally light a tiny lantern filled with Flashflies. This lantern can momentarily blind monsters, creating an opportunity for you to exploit their disorientation and inflict damage more effectively.
A Gutsy Move
On this occasion, your Palico will guide you towards capturing a Giant Vigorwasp in Monster Hunter Wilds. These creatures resemble regular Vigorwasps, but are larger and have more powerful healing abilities. They can be found in the wild, although they are less common. Typically, the Scarlet Forest is an ideal location to hunt for this unique species.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, this side mission is essential for enhancing your Palico, as it offers an extra chance in battles – one free revival while hunting. If you haven’t activated the SOS Flare, your companion Palico can bring you back once if you faint during a hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds. Having an additional life can be incredibly helpful during challenging hunts.
Rath-from-Above, Go!
In this side quest within Monster Hunter Wilds, your Palico companion will ask you to track down and defeat a Quematrice. This battle is set in the Windward Plains. Throughout the encounter, your Palico surprises you with a novel tool – an airborne tank! Essentially, your Felyne ally equips a mini hot-air balloon-like gadget capable of firing at the monster.
After finishing the chase, return to your Palico at any base camp. Finishing this task will equip this gadget in your Palico’s repertoire of abilities. From now on, your Palico will frequently deploy this tank during battles against all monsters.
Purrfect Plundering
In Monster Hunter Worlds, this is your last task to enhance your Palico, requiring you to track down and defeat a Guardian Ebony Odogaron. On this adventure, your Palico will unveil a novel gadget known as the Purrfect Plunderer. This chase can only occur in the Wyveria Ruins area.
Once the hunt is over, head back to any Base Camp to find your Palico waiting. They’ll now have a new move called “Purrfect Plunder” in their arsenal, which they’ll use often during every future mission. This action concludes this side quest and completes your Palico’s upgrade process in Monster Hunter Wilds.
