Without a doubt, those creatures can be monstrous indeed!
Surely, not all players in the game perceive them as monsters. In fact, at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, you’ll encounter Kanya, who harbors an unusual affection for fish. For this quest, she assigns you the task of locating the extremely rare Gravid Bowfin. So let’s give fishing a try.
How To Start The Fishing For Flavour Quest
To embark on this journey, it’s recommended to complete a prerequisite quest called ‘Seeking the Goldenfish’. This quest is also assigned by Kanya, and upon completion, she will reward you with two unique fishing baits – the Golden Bughead and the Emerald Jitterbait. The latter bait is crucial for this current quest.
On this occasion, you’re asked to locate the Gravid Bowfin, which is quite different from the Goldenfry we encountered earlier. You should know that the Gravid Bowfin is exceptionally rare among all the fish in the game, making it a challenging catch for your third fishing quest. So, where can I find this elusive creature?
To make your catch valid for this quest, you’ll need to retrieve the fish using a Fishing Rod after catching them with the Capture Net.
Best Areas To Find A Gravid Bowfin
As a gamer, I’ve come across the elusive Gravid Bowfin, similar to its sibling, the Virid Bowfin. Interestingly enough, this creature can be spotted in every region, making it quite the challenge to catch. Its scarcity doesn’t help either, as it seems to have a relatively low spawn rate in any body of water where it might appear. It’s like playing a hidden object game on steroids!
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that the elusive Gravid Bowfin creatures are often more noticeable in outdoor environments rather than submerged in water like other fish species. However, my team and I had an incredible stroke of luck when we managed to spot them hiding among the foliage in the Scarlet Forest, particularly around Area 13 near the stream.
Because the Gravid Bowfin is red, look for them only in the Scarlet Forest when it’s abundant, as the red-tinted water during other weather conditions can make them hard to spot.
Best Bait To Use For A Gravid Bowfin
In the ‘Seeking the Goldenfish’ mission, you’ll find that Gravid Bowfins tend to be attracted to the Emerald Jitterbait. However, they are more easily startled than other fish. To catch them, position your bait near them and then subtly pull it towards you intermittently. This method is more likely to draw a Gravid Bowfin’s interest compared to quickly moving or jerking the bait.
Green Bowfins inhabit the very same locations as Gravid Bowfins, just note their color difference – they’re green rather than their counterparts. Remember this when attempting to catch this elusive species.
