How to Craft and Upgrade Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, having the appropriate weapon is crucial for survival. There’s a variety of weapons available within each category, but they need to be crafted and upgraded first if you want to have a fighting chance. Here’s a guide on how to create and enhance weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to Craft Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Players of Monster Hunter Wilds can make their own weapons by heading to the blacksmith, Gemma, located at the Smithy in the Base Camp. You’ll find her consistently at the main camps, but not the smaller ones scattered across the map. Her workshop is situated near the center of the Base Camp, nestled between your tent and the exit leading to the rest of the environment.
Speak with her, opt for the option “Design/Improve Equipment“, and then decide on one of the fourteen different types of weapons for the one you wish to create. The weapon creation tree for that specific category will appear, whether or not you are capable of crafting it.
Initially, the primary weapons are positioned on the left side of the ‘tree’, so pick one for a look at its price and specifications. The initial choice may only require Zenny if you’re in need of an additional weapon, but subsequent choices will necessitate both funds and monster components or materials. Once you’ve selected your preferred weapon, confirm the prompt to proceed with crafting it.
How to Upgrade Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Players have the option to enhance their weapons at Gemma using the same weapon progression pathway. The basic weapons are located on the left side, while the upgrades are connected nodes on the right. By crafting an upgrade, the original weapon gets replaced.
In addition to Zenny, upgrades require monster parts or resources. You’ll find a list of necessary components once you’ve discovered at least one resource. Players can monitor their upgrades by accessing the Sub-Menu and adding potential upgrades to their Wishlist. The game will then alert you when you have sufficient resources to craft the weapon or upgrade.
