How To Use the Monster Hunter Wilds Photo Mode and Screenshots Location

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you don’t need to let your thrilling monster-hunting experiences remain as mere recollections. Instead, gamers can capture snapshots of their hunts, characters, monsters, and the expansive landscapes directly within the game using its built-in photo mode.

While the photo mode in Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t top-notch, it still manages to deliver, particularly when used in multiplayer settings. Here’s a guide on how to make the most of the photo mode functionality.

The photo mode feature in Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t perfect, but it does the trick, especially during multiplayer games. Let me walk you through using this feature effectively.

Photo Mode in Monster Hunter Wilds

You can engage the photo mode in Monster Hunter Wilds through several methods, however, the most common approach is by pressing the Options/Menu button on your gamepad or the Escape key on your keyboard. Once you’ve done that, navigate to the Photo Mode option within the Systems section.

Although it’s not overly complex, I suggest incorporating the “Photo Mode” into the Radial Menu, making it more convenient to utilize this feature. Here’s a simple way to implement it:

  • Select Options/Escape, and then navigate to the Items and Equipment tab
  • Here, select Customize Radial Menu
  • Now, you can either create a new Loadout or edit an existing one and select the Photo Mode option from the list.
  • This will add the photo mode option to your radial menu, making it much easier to access during the game.

Photo Mode Features Monster Hunter Wilds

In single-player mode, the photo function temporarily halts gameplay, but it won’t pause the action when you’re in a multiplayer lobby. Users have the freedom to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives, modify their character’s pose, carry out various gestures, tweak depth of field settings, and adjust zoom levels.

After you’re satisfied with the picture, just tap ‘A’ or ‘X’ to capture it. You can access your photos from the ‘Album’ in the main menu when paused.

Monster Hunter Wilds Photo Mode Screenshots Location

As a dedicated fan, I’ve discovered that when taking screenshots within the Photo Mode of Monster Hunter World, these snapshots are automatically saved to my computer in the very same location where the game itself resides.

The images are in JPG format and their quality is good, though it’s not of extremely high quality. I’d rather use Steam’s uncompressed screenshot tool when in photo mode, with the user interface (UI) concealed for better results.

As a devoted admirer, I must say that the photographic aspect of Monster Hunter Wilds is satisfactory, but there’s always room for improvement. I can’t help but yearn for additional elements such as filters, color correction options, and advanced camera tools to truly elevate my in-game photography experience.
