How To Use Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Here’s a concise yet informative rephrasing on the topic of Layered Armor in Monster Hunter World:
An overview of Layered Armor in Monster Hunter World, including instructions on how to acquire them, how to add them to your inventory, and additional details.
In the world of Monster Hunter, Layered Armor stands as a significant element that significantly influences gameplay and character building. Although it doesn’t directly alter mechanics, it provides a meaningful objective for the game’s final stages.
As you advance towards the finale of Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll likely have chosen a build that suits your preferences for Event Quests and Special Investigations. At this point, Layered Armor becomes significant. Since your character’s stats are already set, Layered Armor provides an incentive to continue grinding, primarily to unlock new armor pieces. Although the armor itself won’t offer much in terms of enhanced stats, you can still employ it as Layered Armor to give your Hunter a unique aesthetic.
Essentially, the Layered Armor serves as Monster Hunter Wilds’ transformation feature. Here’s a rundown of all you should know regarding Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How To Unlock Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds?
In contrast to previous Monster Hunter games, the process of creating Layered Armor independently is not required in Monster Hunter Wilds. Instead, Layered Armor sets become available automatically as you produce High Rank gear. However, in Low Rank, you won’t have access to Layered Armor unless you own the pre-order or Deluxe Edition bonuses. Nevertheless, once you transition into High Rank, you will be able to unlock Layered Armor as you craft new armor pieces.
Additionally, there are unique armor sets that may not boast impressive stats but serve as stylish options for the Hunter, often referred to as Layered outfits. For players who have pre-ordered or purchased the Deluxe Edition, two distinct Layered sets are available: the Guild Knight and Feudal Soldier designs.
As a fervent fan, I’m excited to share that just like with the Hunter’s armor, you can acquire Layered sets for your Palico companions too! While creating fresh Palico equipment in High Rank, don’t forget that these armor pieces are also unlocked as Layered sets.
How To Equip Layered Armor?
To don a non-locked Layered Armor, just visit any of your temporary camps, known as Pop-up Camps. There, you will find several options for selecting different Layered armor sets. Inside the Pop-up Camp, locate the ‘Equipment Appearance’ tab within the ‘Appearance Menu’.
In the ‘Appearance of Your Gear,’ you have the option to select Layered Armor for each separate item. Additionally, you can decide to show or conceal an armor piece. The same applies when customizing your Palico’s gear under ‘Palico Equipment Appearance. Here is a simple guide on how to put on Layered Armor:’
1. Navigate to the ‘Appearance of Your Gear.’
2. Choose ‘Layered Armor’ for each individual piece you want to use.
3. If needed, decide to show or hide specific armor pieces.
4. To equip Layered Armor for your Palico, go to ‘Palico Equipment Appearance‘.
5. Follow the same steps as above for your Palico’s gear.
- Head to a Pop-up camp.
- Select Equipment Appearance under the Appearance Menu tab.
- Select your preferred Layered Armor pieces.
Apart from choosing your preferred Layered Armor set, you can save this configuration as a custom loadout for quick access. To do this, after finalizing your Layered Armor combination, just hit either L3 or LS to open the Loadout menu. If you wish to create a new loadout, simply press Y or Triangle on an empty slot. By saving your loadout, you can easily reload it without having to search through all the Layered Armor pieces again.
