- Giving The Relic To Oracle Sargamis
When a being resembling a deity requests your assistance in offering up blameless souls to resurrect his previously malevolent god, it’s only natural for doubts to arise. The decision to hand over the relic to Oracle Sargamis in Avowed is just one of the significant dilemmas you may grapple with as your adventure unfolds.
In what appeared to be a straightforward mission involving infiltration and rescue, the vessel named Dawntreader proves to be far more complex. Ranging from challenging decision-making situations to possibly acquiring one of Avowed’s finest swords.
Even though you’ve decided to eliminate Sargamis for his sword, let me clarify the outcomes of each action, their effects within the realm of Avowed, and if it’s wise to hand Oracle Sargamis the relic or not.
This version maintains the original’s tone while making it more approachable and easier to understand for a general audience.
Dawntreader Quest Overview
On your journey accompanied by Kai, following your unexpected demise, you’ll encounter Ofryce near the Aedyran Embassy who is in search of aid. He will task you with locating his missing brother and aiding the exploration team dispatched to the Eothasian Temple, their objective being the discovery of an ancient relic.
Inside the temple lies a hidden truth. As you delve deeper, you’ll eventually come across Caedmon, brother to Orfyce. Provide him with a healing potion or mend him with your magical abilities so he can exit the temple securely and reunite with his sibling. Shortly thereafter, you will encounter Sargamis, the Oracle.
I hope this helps! Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
Sargamis insists that he hasn’t run into the exploration group. Moreover, he requests your assistance in tracking down the Splinter of Eothas, a valuable artifact the team was searching for. Now, your mission has changed: you need to locate and retrieve this relic and return it to Sargamis.
Following your acquisition of the Splinter of Eothas, you’ll find an additional task, should you choose to accept it – searching for a lost expedition team. The path will eventually reveal a concealed entrance and a mechanism with three switches. To unlock the secret door, press the switch located on the right side.
Stepping into the concealed chamber, I find myself face-to-face with my comrades who lie motionless. Now, a choice presents itself: take on Sargamis to uncover his secret motives, or simply walk away from him and the temple, with no rewards or repercussions to show for it.
Should You Give The Relic Of Eothas To Oracle Sargamis?

As Sargamis lays out his intentions to harness the souls of our team to resurrect Eothas, it’s up to us whether to aid him or thwart his scheme. However, I’ve heard whispers of a method to dissuade him from carrying out this plan, and we might just stumble upon it down the line.
Before deciding whether or not to involve Kai in helping Sargamis, it’s crucial to understand the potential ramifications of each option.
Killing Sargamis

It’s clearly the better option to eliminate Sargamis, since resurrecting an evil deity is already problematic, but adding to that the eternal damnation of blameless spirits makes it far more unacceptable.
Absolutely, making this choice will lead to a showdown against Sargamis. Following his defeat, you’ll have the opportunity to retrieve the Last Light of Day sword from his remains, an excellent weapon for the early stages in the game called Avowed.
Following the altercation, you now have three options: depart from the temple and continue your journey, damage the statue, or offer it to The Voice.
Giving The Statue To The Voice

Following the demise of Sargamis, communication from The Voice will occur via the Adra. It will instruct you to place the Eothas Relic within the statue. However, rather than resurrecting Eothas, the Voice intends to occupy this liberated form once it’s been freed from its confinement.
Minor spoilers ahead regarding how giving the statue to the Voice will affect the ending of Avowed.
Indeed, at present, we don’t have much insight into the Voice’s real motives, but I believe this scenario offers the most favorable result for our journey.
Should you decide to bestow the statue upon The Voice, know that it might subtly influence your journey with Sapadal, roaming the lands accompanied by this artifact. Fear not, for it doesn’t carry as ominous a connotation as it may seem at first glance.
If you decide to demolish the statue, the Voice is likely to disapprove, but there won’t be significant repercussions from this action.
Giving The Relic To Oracle Sargamis

If you choose to aid Sargamis, regrettably, the outcome of the experiment proves unfavorable for both you and him. Regardless of your actions, it’s impossible for Sargamis to bring Eothas back to life.
After the test goes awry, Sargamis requests I concede my spirit for the procedure. Strangely, I’ll expire, and the game will revert to my most recent saved game if I consent to relinquish my soul.
You could as well persuade Sargamis to voluntarily participate in the test, sacrificing his life in the process. Once he’s deceased, you can then retrieve the Last Light of Day sword from his remains. To do this, you’ll have to choose the appropriate dialogues.
- The chime of an unknown Godlike wouldn’t interest Eothas. It has to be you.
- Eothas didn’t keep me alive for 600 years. It has to be you.
The final decision you have left is to persuade Sargamis to abandon the experiment completely. This is the sole circumstance under which Sargamis won’t perish, and you’ll obtain the Last Light of Day sword.
Yet, there’s uncertainty as to whether the background-exclusive dialogue option for this decision applies universally across all character backgrounds, or if it only pertains to certain ones.
