Is Poogie There in Monster Hunter Wilds?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, do we find our beloved swine character, Poogie? Let’s see if he’s made an appearance in this new edition.

Poogie’s resume boasts participation in every Monster Hunter game except Monster Hunter Rise. There was concern among players whether Capcom might exclude him from Monster Hunter Wilds as well. Given his significant role within the series for numerous fans and a beloved character that many look forward to encountering before their hunts, it’s understandable why this question arises.

It seems that Poogie indeed makes an appearance in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (MHW), specifically within the Wilds region. However, to provide more context, let me give you a brief overview of his role, but be mindful as we’ll delve into details from the latter half of the Low Rank storyline, which may contain spoilers for those who haven’t played through it yet.

In MHW, Poogie is a Felyne palico that becomes your companion and ally in the game. He has an unusual hobby: he loves to collect monster poop (yep, you read that right!). As you progress through the storyline, Poogie discovers a mysterious substance known as “Muck” while investigating a new area called the Wildspire Waste. This discovery leads him to create the Poogie Mobile, a vehicle designed for collecting Muck and, more importantly, monster poop!

Later on, as you reach the higher ranks of the storyline and explore the Ancient Forest, you’ll come across a hidden area called the Rotten Vale. This is where Poogie gets himself into trouble by chasing after a rare and dangerous monster, resulting in him becoming infected with a mysterious disease. It’s up to you to find a cure for Poogie, which involves completing various quests and collecting specific items.

So, yes, you can expect to encounter Poogie during your journey through MHW Wilds, but be prepared for some unexpected twists and turns along the way!

Where Is Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Poogie is in Suja, the village in the peaks where the Allhearken stays.

As a follower enamored with the tales of Arkveld’s awakening, Tasheen, Nata’s revered uncle, shares a clue about the Allhearken who might unravel the mystery behind it. The path ahead is arduous, but you must outsmart Jin Dahaad along the journey. Conquer the Apex Monster residing in the Iceshard Cliffs, and you’ll find yourself escaping the frigid gloom, welcomed instead by the cozy warmth of Suja.

Keep ascending the pathway until you spot the initial group of villagers. Prior to encountering the Wyverians, Poogie’s image will become noticeable. When I first encountered him, he had a green frog perched on his head.

After meeting Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll be given two choices: Pet and Rename. Choosing to Pet him initiates an interaction where timing is key – if you miss the Interact button, he might charge at you instead. At this point, we haven’t been able to pick him up or change his outfit yet.

Why Is Poogie a Beloved Part of Monster Hunter Series?

There’s no need for hesitation – who wouldn’t enjoy having a charming little pig named Poogie running around your camp, right? And while it may be more of a belief than a proven fact, experienced hunters often agree that giving Poogie a pat before setting out on a hunt tends to lead to better results when it comes to monster carves or drops. Whether this is based in truth or simply superstition, we’re just glad Poogie is back!
